that's when you should worry about it

1/ Since I'm home caring for teen suffering Flu A, I thought I'd check in on #bcpoli flu situation.

Flu A test positivity - going up, up, up 😬

(COVID mercifully going down. Maybe a lull - never a disappearance - until BA3.2.# rolls in?)

avoid this beast with every method you have

do not repeat

do not casually overlay other preventable illnesses

do not believe there are ways to reverse the decline once spiral starts

break the chains
Please remember, every time you see a newspaper or magazine article denigrating people - people like myself - who choose to avoid infection with SARS-CoV-2, there will always be a tiny, quiet voice in the mind of the author whispering, 'what if they're right'?

We are right.

Debate the possibility that some unions have been hollowed out so much they are now fake. Appearing for poorly negotiated wage contracts every couple yrs, pickets that are ignored & for some minor grievances. Overall, they are pseudoexisiting to soothe the souls of workers rather than advance rights

In my recollection, the degredation of hip joints was a known long term effect of sars1 infection.

In ON, there is a mandate to privatize hip replacement surgery.

Ghouls walk amongst us.
There is also evidence of upregulation of osteoclasts over osteoblasts. Increased bone turnover and absorption is a quick path to osteoporosis
I guess micro clotting/rarefication and femur/pelivic hip fractures don't mix with blood flow and bone repair too well.😏

advising me to give up PH advocacy & support is akin to asking me to give up religion, law-abidedness, Democracy, ethics, national identity or all of the above.

No.

It's a full sentence.

Not for my life or yours.

Where are our taxes going?

If tax collections aren't being paid to Public Servants, or paying for insured or uninsured health services, or replacing medical equipment, repairing aging health infrastructure & buildings, providing essential medications, providing social care...

where is our money?
IN WHAT WORLD IS THIS FAIR? 😢
From the OMA: Across Ontario, physicians are performing complex, high-stakes procedures and facing delayed, denied, or rejected OHIP claims. This hurts patients, doctors, and the system. 😠

"In Greek mythology, Cassandra was given the gift of prophecy—of seeing the future—but cursed that she would never be believed. Her name is sometimes used as a pejorative for an overacting alarmist, which, appropriately enough, misses the point. Cassandra was, after all, right."
Cassandra syndrome: when you can clearly see what the results will be, warn ppl but are dismissed as “crazy”.

There were ppl who predicted all this (waves at everything) but were both dismissed & misrepresented by the media.

The Americans Who Saw All This Coming—but Were Ignored and Maligned
Call them the Cassandras: the people—mostly not white and male—who smelled the fascism all over Trump from jump street. Why were they “alarmists,” and how did “anti-alarmism” become cool?

"For the battle-hardened staff of the Royal Stoke,...in what is already an exhausting “permacrisis”..."it would be fair to say I don’t think we’re ever out of winter,” says Dan Hobby, matron for general surgery. “It almost feels like winter is 12 months a year. We are permanently in winter.”

Check on each other.
If someone hasn't checked in,
check on them. Thrice.
If you are leaving online spaces, check on each other irl...
Find a buddy, or set up a group, set up a routine for checking in...

Check on people most unlike you and those most unlikeable...

Keep quilting social cohesion.
