Seeing OLC’s “Murder Memo” would be interesting in the context of the debate over lawful orders.
The Trump Admin has conducted 21 unauthorized military strikes in the Caribbean & East Pacific—killing 83 people—without giving Americans a full explanation. I’m leading my colleagues in demanding the declassification & public release of documents justifying these airstrikes.

Unpopular opinion: Yes, it's bullshit that Ghislane Maxwell is getting better treatment in prison than everyone else because she praised Trump. But it's much bigger bullshit that incarcerated people are treated so horrifically that toilet paper is considered a privilege.

speaking as a virginia beach native if these kind of dudes are plotting against ICE then there is wide runway in public opinion for straight up abolishing the agency under a dem presidency

Apropos of nothing in particular, today I'm thinking about the article of impeachment that the House of Representatives contemplated in 1868.

The rule of law is a precious gift. And it is slipping away.

A point of this reporting is to underscore how not just wildly scandalous Trump’s wide ranging coverup of the Epstein files is right now, but that his coverup has hit a new level of blatant political corruption and abuse of power.

Genuinely, historically atrocious in ways too many get numb to

This is what is so funny to me about people insisting that impeachment is a completely insurmountable task that can never be done.

We are talking about four GOP votes. Two of which I might add, already voted to impeach the guy!
4 Republicans were just willing to break ranks on the discharge petition, I don't think an impeachment vote is much more to ask, under the circumstances.

The coordinated nature of this—none are facing voters in 2026—means that either Schumer approved it or failed in his job as Senate Majority Leader to stop it.

Dems voting "no" get zero credit until they demand a change in leadership. Schumer out as Leader, Durbin out as Whip.
so currently defectors are:

Kaine (2030)
Shaheen (Retiring)
Hasan (2028)
Fetterman (2028)
Durbin (Retiring)
CCM (2028)
Rosen (2030)
King (2030)

For what it's worth, I do basically agree that even pretty good Dem Senators (e.g. Booker) should face a strong primary challenge

Some of them may end up deserving to win those primaries! But they should still have to face them

I refuse to support a funding bill that fails to address the Republican health care crisis.

And make health insurance affordable.

If the rest don’t oust Schumer immediately, then the entire U.S. Senate sold us out. They think we’re stupid. It’s insulting.
These 8 Senators sold us out to Trump:
Hassan
King
Cortez-Masto
Shaheen
Kaine
Fetterman
Durbin
Rosen

Understand This Fact: Chuck Schumer is behind this. None of these 8 are up for reelection in 2026. Schumer asked them vote yes—they agreed. He's such a coward that he folded and won't even own it.

A leader would not have lost eight colleagues tonight. This happened because you let it happen or because you’ve totally lost control of the caucus in one of the most important moments since you’ve been Democratic leader. Either way, it’s on you. You need to step down. We need someone who can lead.
Democrats have been fighting for months to address America's healthcare crisis

For the millions who will lose coverage
For people with cancer who won't get the care they need
For working families who can't afford to pay $25K more a year for healthcare

We will keep fighting

Nothing. It means nothing. Schumer needs to go.
What does a "promise for a vote on something that Republicans won't agree to include in a must-pass bill" even mean? I'm charting the various scenarios, and they all lead to destination fuck-all.
