The exhibition compiles her hand-drawn maps, and features a reproduction of her NW Thurman writing room... plus doodles of cats!!

While ICE abductions, often in broad daylight, have provoked fear and outrage, the escalation is also unleashing a less visible form of economic treachery on Chicago’s immigrant working class: wage theft, lost income, work speedups, and economic slumps that spread through neighborhoods. My latest.

NEW: Since the start of this year, more than 600 immigrant children have been placed in government shelters by ICE.

That number, which has not been previously reported, is the highest since recordkeeping began a decade ago.

People be lying again
On Friday, there was a small conflict among some kids in one of my classes. I was talking to one of the students involved—sharing what I’d heard from others—& they kept repeating, “People be lying. People be lying.”

Can’t get it out of my head b/c it’s so true about so many situations.

2025 has been my year of many quick Public Collectors publications, ranging from 4 to 32 pages. There have been 18 so far. I have another one I'm working on for December and then, unless something else pops up, I'll end with 19 booklets for 2025. Feels good! Get em here: halfletterpress.com

I've always said if you want to know what's best for kids, look at where elites send their kids and what they provide their students.

The US is absolutely not willing to provide that for poor and working families, so I fundamentally can't be bothered with any of this.

One thing I appreciate about this AI moment: our fuck-no refusal is inspiring a lot of us to take the time & energy to carefully articulate what it is we value & believe. Perhaps we’re also finding new ways to say we love each other & humanity & to affirm all that it is possible to do together.
Yesterday my partner and I counted all the ads along Chicago's Brown Line for "Friend," a company selling an AI chatbot pendant, and tallied how many of those ads were defaced.

Still working on a longer piece on this, but here's the quick and dirty: we counted 104 "Friend" ads total, 42 defaced.
