In 2008, a blogger named Curtis Yarvin called for a future president to kill foreign aid programs as part of a plan to replace democracy with dictatorship.

Now 600,000 people are dead—and 14 million will die by 2030, according to the Lancet. This is the running death toll of tech fascism.
One analytical model shows that, as of November 5th, the dismantling of U.S.A.I.D. has already caused the deaths of 600,000 people, two-thirds of them children. https://newyorkermag.visitlink.me/jUzNSc

It's even sadder now that we have Latinos wearing ICE uniforms physically abusing people who are just like them. It's like watching Jews violently rounding up other Jews to send to the Nazi death camps.

In a plea deal in Dec 2024, Smirnov admitted to completely fabricating the conspiracy that became central to a GOP effort to impeach then-President Joe Biden. Days later, the Russian asset pleaded guilty to four felony charges, including one count of obstruction, and was sentenced to six years.
Alexander Smirnov, the ex–FBI informant who admitted to lying about the Biden-Burisma connection, has been released from prison just months into his six-year prison sentence. trib.al/W2wJSVD

Democrats asked for ONE THING today to reopen the govt: Keep health insurance subsidies where they are at now for one year. That is IT. Nothing else.

Republicans said no.

So all the lies they tell every day about things Dems are asking for is BS.
Republicans OWN this shutdown.

So there are Americans who are angry if the Us government uses their tax dollars to offer migrants/immigrants healthcare but are ok with the government spending billions of their tax dollars to keep them in concentration camps?
Trump wants to use the Navy to build $10B worth of migrant detention camps.

Let me get this straight: we "can't afford" to invest in public programs that make housing or healthcare more affordable — but we have endless funds to detain migrants and enrich defense contractors?
