On a journey to learn how all my teenage faves were problematic, develop healthier relationships with a load of new faves, share what I’ve learned with skeptical teenagers and keep my cats fed and happy.
Been listening to short stories by Agatha Christie and Arthur Conan Doyle this holiday. Why are Christie’s writing about women so much more repellent than Doyle completely ignoring half the population? (Also, I do NOT recommend Grant Allen. An author best left forgotten, in my view.)

And from image events, we get POLYSEMIC images that carry multiple forms of ideology into the present. Here, we have the convergence of Shepard Fairey's iconic HOPE poster for the Obama campaign with the frog icon from #NoKings. The is how you visually dismantle fascist iconography.

I’ve always said that I couldn’t work in sales, but I am incredibly good at selling things that I believe in. Have you heard about the concept of human rights, or literature?

This isn’t even an AI post as much as it is another anecdote in how social relations in America have been put through a blender of extreme market extraction at the same time that govt/charitable support for 3rd spaces, extracurriculars, social clubs, etc have fallen to their lowest point in decades.

The word 'god' underwent a gender change.

It comes from the neuter Proto-Germanic noun *gudan.

This is shown by Old English, Old Norse and Gothic, where its descendants still had a grammatically neuter form.

Their masculine gender was introduced by Christianity.

A student is absent for whatever reason, say sports, or illness and they need to make up some work.

They take awhile to make it up, and then complete the work. Their parents want their grade immediately updated and they do too.

You have 180 students, so that's not possible. What happens?

i think this tumblr post is incredibly important for baby gays (all queer people really) to read at least once before they try to fit themselves in a neat heteronormative little box, cause fascists WILL put a pink triangle on your box and send you and all of us other 'degenerates' to a death camp.

I saw advice to buy extra cans of food when you’re at the grocery store to donate to the food bank.

I want to politely nudge you to give the money directly to food banks (or to mutual aid groups if you know of any).

First, Prop 8 banned gay marriage in California. I had a bunch of gay people in my life and felt righteously angry. Then the bathroom bills started coming down and it felt like the same bullshit.

Also, right-wing media deadnaming and misgendering Chelsea Manning. It was just unnecessarily rude.
cis folks, i'm curious for you to share answers, if you want:

what made you start caring about trans rights? who'd you know/what happened? tell me the story.
