Building https://sunslider.social. v1 now available in the App Store.

Why?

Because Insta doesn’t deserve us.
Because we need social networks built for normal people.
Because there’s only so much we can take ✊

1/ We're all here on @bsky.app because we got pissed off with how the other site was being run.

And it made me realize we could build a different world, one that helps us us feel a little better about not being tied to an asshole like Musk.

So I thought about other assholes we could get free of.
Beaides the obligatory, “billionaires are a policy failure, boomers pulled the ladder up behind them, etc.”, the framing here is annoying. Either these people have no sense that there are tradeoffs in life, or the reporting is just making them out to be suckers.

Or, and I’m just spitballing here, Sam’s a liar.
Unnamed sources told TechCrunch OpenAI has a 20% rev share with MS. They paid MSFT $865.8M for Q1-Q3, implying $4.3B in revenue.

That's way off Sam Altman's $20B quote, but the discrepancy is likely him citing ARR vs. actual revenue numbers.

Deep cut, here for it
Jeffrey Epstein originally got interested in Noam Chomsky because he heard he’d written a book on manufacturing consent

Ok, so I’m pretty immune to any kind of shock at this point, but… say what now?
Mark Epstein asked his brother Jeffrey Epstein whether Steve Bannon could confirm if Putin has “the photo of Trump blowing Bubba. Jeffrey Epstein: "I thought I had tsuris,” using the Yiddish term for troubles. #OpDeathEaters

You just know that “Did Women Ruin the Workplace?” bit would have done NUMBERS in this little clique
Something absolutely perfect about Larry Summers riffing about the scourge of woke cancel culture being unfair to predatory men in a friendly email to his pal JEFFREY EPSTEIN.

Come on over to @sunslider.bsky.social ! We have content moderation, obv, but some key principles too, which in addition to allowing for art, also includes “if it’s a level of nudity acceptable for a man, it’s a level of nudity acceptable for a woman.”
Yeah. I have an art account that I can’t get un-marked for adult content.

It’s nudity, but it’s art, and it isn’t explicit, and I have the consent of the model (I am the model).

It’s labelled as everything but art, and they won’t accept an appeal (“try again”).

Lots of folks captioning aurora photos like "for a few minutes we didn't think about politics"

guess I'm built different, every time I'm out trying to see night sky stuff I frequently think about how much light pollution is entirely preventable with just a tiny bit of regulation

I assume this is more of a “you raise when you can, not when you need it situation” where we all know the bubb- I mean fundraising environment will turn soon, so they’re trying to get in under the wire?

We do have to accept her into the fold if she posts a “are we the baddies” meme, sorry, those are just the rules.
I am deliriously laughing at the image of Boebert facing dawning revelation that she's actually found the pedophile elite conspiracy ring and that she's standing right in the middle of it
November 13, 2025 at 7:07 AM
Given the quantity of pedophile emails I’ve seen in the past 24 hours, it’s something to say that this is the most cursed image of the day.
excuse me while I slip into something more comfortable

I can guarantee that at @sunslider.bsky.social you’ll never get busted for posting Johnny Cash lyrics.

Unless you’re a Nazi posting Johnny Cash lyrics, because since day one that’s been our one strict rule: No Nazis.

Man, how *pissed* is JD Vance knowing that all evidence points to Trump being a pedophile and he’s *still* not gonna get pushed out?

I get that we’re in the “Dems suck” moment, and it’s justified; butbif you look at
1) how politically ignorant/uncaring the vast majority of people are
and
2) how enormously these rates are going up, which will be blamed on the party in power,

well, I’m actually not sure it wasn’t the right move.
I've been reposting everyone replying to this post with their own ACA (and sometimes employer!) price hikes. Feel free to add yours. There is some comfort in knowing you aren't alone and knowing we'll all be voting on this issue in a year.

Chuck Schumer should be chucked out. #chuckchuck

My own move away from Twitter took place about a month or two after Noah started his descent into madness, it was noticeable in a “wait, what?” kind of way every few days.
The collapse of Noah Smith from 'interesting writer whose occasionally a bit random' into 'complete idiot and mentalist' is one of the most clear cut cases of twitter-poisoning I've seen
Noah Smith is paid in the high six-figures to write a blog read by Americans who believe themselves to be intelligent. Yet, he is both unable to read a sign and also for some reason chose to have a 90 minute layover for a flight that takes 90 minutes.

I’m still standing here, aren’t I?
related but my 100% serious take is the next John wick movie should be set in hell and they shouldn’t explain anything
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

“People want a smaller iPhone option.”

“Ok, thinner, got it.”

“Yeah, thinner, I heard you!”

Apple’s $1,000 ultra thin iPhone Air which has fewer cameras and worse battery life than the $800 iPhone 17 is selling so poorly they’re second guessing the next release.

They really misjudged their audience by betting thinness at the expense of user value was the way to go.
