We ran a randomized controlled trial to see how much AI coding tools speed up experienced open-source developers.

The results surprised us: Developers thought they were 20% faster with AI tools, but they were actually 19% slower when they had access to AI than when they didn't.

Light games can punch above their weight and they are incredibly useful in achieving learning objectives. From modelling to teaching mechanics to telling stories, they can help students taking their first steps in wargaming and wargame design.

Disappointing to see @richmond.com keep the story of Gov. Youngkin getting booed mercilessly yesterday in Richmond by hundreds of demonstrators at the 250th anniversary of the "Liberty or Die" speech off its front page. That's a revealing editorial choice, and a frank disservice to readers.

It’s not exactly fun to revisit the colonialism, homophobia, and warfare of our past. But then again, “fun” was never really the point.

I love this game and all I've done is stare at the rulebook and components for about an hour and feel like I was going insane.
I was so mad/proud when I figured out 1(one) aspect with something resembling certainty.
Over the weekend, our breakout hit City of Six Moons - which has been out less than six months! - became our second best-selling game ever. It's within a few hundred copies of Table Battles, which got to where it is over the course of EIGHT YEARS of strong sales.
