I have said it before, I will say it again. It's not a bad apple. It's not a bad barrel. It's the soil. Holistic changes to the culture & environment for policing in Canada (not just Calgary) are needed to address this criminal behaviour.

Who will ever report a sexual assault to CPS again? Exactly.

This is among the most democratically dangerous things Danielle Smith has said.

She wants to remove all checks and balances on her power and projects herself as the embodiment of "the people."

We have left the realm of liberal democracy in this province.
Smith doubled down on her anti court rhetoric today...

She even seemed to suggest that federally appointed judges couldn't render impartial rulings and that she believed her interpretation should always be above theirs.

Cycling is social. Design for it.
NYC definitely needs way more of these double-wide bike lanes.

Being able to calmly bike next to someone is the sort of low stress trip I think a lot of people are waiting for before trying to cycle around the city.

Definitely me included!

Every time someone says this about Canada Post I scream.
The USPS posting a NINE BILLION DOLLAR LOSS!!! sounds terrible. Certainly worse than if you said "USPS costs thirty dollars per person per year" even though that means the same thing and more accurately describes a government service

how about instead of focusing our energy on teaching kids road safety we teach adults safe systems.

Convenient low cost storage for private vehicles is a huge part of their competitive advantage as a mode of transportation.

No wonder people fight so hard to maintain it. Otherwise they may have to face the reality that cars don't work well in cities without a ton of public subsidy.

Humans aren't meant to move at highway speeds in isolation pods for everything in life. When we slow down to the human scale, the city stops being an obstacle course and starts being a home.

Think much of the over-parenting we despise stems from the early on fear of the driver.
If parents weren't terrified of our streets kids would have so much more freedom and independence which might get them comfortable with their children's ability to navigate the world without them.

Community: Can we put in a protected bike lane to get more people cycling.

City: No, we'll lose parking spots.

Funny how when a person is killed in traffic, according to the Post it’s the “car” that did it but when anyone comes along to make streets safer it’s an attack on “drivers.”

Doesn’t help that the NYT is helping these assholes to launder their disinformation.

NEW: The F.D.A. announced in an internal memo that 10 children died "because of" the Covid shot. Other experts want to see proof.

“This is a profound revelation,” Dr. Prasad's memo said. “For the first time, the U.S. F.D.A. will acknowledge that Covid-19 vaccines have killed American children.”
