My struggle as a comic book writer is a simple one. I don't believe in broad strokes. Things are good because of the details. There are only a handful of plots/story beats. Variation comes from nuance. But @ 22 pages, details are the 1st to go.

4 images from comics I've written. Credits in thread.

Put men up against the wall. Make them second class citizens. Take away their toys. I'm a man (son of a mother, grandson of 2 grandmothers, husband of a wife, father of 2 daughters, grandfather of a granddaughter) & I'm ready to be a gender traitor. This sucks. Maybe follow Juliet, her feed is cool.

I hate it when my bus is three hours late after I've gotten to the depot hours early to wait in a massive TSA security line in the hopes of making my bus on time. (Also, I ride the bus literally every single week and get a kick out of it, but I fucking hate to fly.)
Air travel isn't really that unpleasant, you just aren't used to riding a bus and think the experience should somehow be nicer

@hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social you tired ass tacky ism-baiting motherfucking hack. You to played. It's socialism for corps but not for the people, right? It's tax dollars for the rich and not services for the poor? What do you think you're fighting for when you fight for affordable healthcare for all?
BREAKING: The House of Representatives voted 285–98 in favor of a resolution condemning socialism.

Eighty-six Democrats joined Republicans in supporting the measure, including House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries.

This is so interesting because though a finished work is how I make a living, I've chosen to spend my life creating. I've chosen to dedicate time to the creating itself, honing a voice & a POV. The time invested in the act of creating IS the life. I don't want to have created, I want to be creating.
AI art guys try to sell the tech as a great time-saver/labor-equalizer but also insist it requires LOTS of skill and work. It’s a funny negotiation that gets to the emptiness in how some people see art. Hyper outcome-focused but unsure of how to measure that artistic outcome except by time invested.

So honored to have a Bleeding Hearts 1 variant from @shadex6.bsky.social, one of the all time greats. Just look at how much work was put into that -- what a privilege! And that's on top of the perfect main cover from @stipanmorian.bsky.social & another brilliant one from legendary Jae Lee!

Perhaps slightly apropos of this, a part of America died when YouTube replaced Public Access television and we put our media democratization in the hands of algorithms and corporations.
one of the underrated factors for the rise in scamming across U.S. society is the death of local media.
It gets lost in the shuffle, but the Speaker of the House is someone who, by all rights, should’ve had his career ended a decade ago by a Shreveport TV news investigative team.

The swastika is one of the most ancient symbols known. It's found on Hopi Indian blankets, Hindu art, Buddhist texts, Etruscan tombs, Sumerian coinage, etc. Since the 1930s, however, it's been used as a symbol of HATE & GENOCIDE in the West. That has not changed. Sadly, it IS IN FACT a HATE symbol.

Of all the wild things happening in the US right now, politicians seemingly deciding in unison "fuck it; we're cussing." is the most funny, and welcome, if I'm being honest.

Not even private equity is this bad at torching wealth. You can't put a number on the value of the people whose lives Trump & co. are committed to ruining.
Melissa Tran came here on a Green Card at age 11.

She's since raised 4 kids, started a business, & is a beloved member of the Hagerstown community.

Trump is deporting her, despite a judge saying she poses no threat.

Is she the "worst of the worst"? Do you feel safer yet?

I just want to put a fine point on this article from last week. When the government is failing, capitalism is succeeding. It's a war between democracy and capitalism.

I was just talking to my French publisher about this. It is for a good reason, but it's also a deep blow to smaller publishers who count on the festival to help them with their first quarter earnings. It really shows how corruption and the behavior of the selfish derail the rest of us.
