As a former editor of Popbitch – and the proud owner of a legal letter sent by HarperCollins, accusing me of being "highly likely to cause serious harm to [their former star client]’s reputation both as an individual and author” – may I just say: GET IT RIGHT UP YE

To everyone on Bluesky finding out about Walliams and despairing at the fact that "I read those books to my kids" I just want to reassure them that it's OK. He didn't write them.

Pan pipes and organ has to be one of the worst combinations ever devised… deep bass and shrill warbling 😂😂

MY GOD look at how much comedy used to be on the BBC.
One of those promos the BBC used to be so good at making. A raft of comedy talent on display here

I long for a tile on BBC iPlayer called something like Play-For-Today-niverse or whatever. And you click there are all 306 episodes just there for anyone to watch. And the 28 missing ones have been lovingly animated.

Why is this too much to ask??

The holy Christmas trinity: someone shat in the fitting room, someone tried to return extravagantly cum stained jeans that were from another shop & accused me of ruining Christmas because I didn’t refund her, then a guy threw a handful of Quality Street at me for not having a coat in his son’s size
man i have never had as many stupid questions as when i worked at Lush, just thinking about it now and we really put retail workers Through It don't we

Maigret and Van der Valk are men with stable, even boring, home lives. They come into other people's chaos and sort it out. Then go back for dinner, once it's all settled.
my favorite thing about the benoit blanc movies is that they aren't really about benoit blanc. he is not grappling with demons from his past. we are not getting flashbacks to the husband whose murder he never solved. he just shows up and does his job like mary poppins for homicides

One of my big bugbears -- the way Spotify playlists have, in just a handful of years, replaced British Xmas music (leery boozed-up Brummies with ridiculous facial hair) with American Xmas music (cardigans and expensive dentistry).
The sudden cratering in value of Merry Xmas Everybody in place of smarmy Perry Como crap is seriously making the world worse
