Award-winning filmmaker (AMERICAN SCARY, BACKYARD BLOCKBUSTERS), lots of work on other properties (BABYLON 5, STAR WARS, CRIMSON SKIES) - I try to stay busy...

To my new followers - I'm a filmmaker/animator/TV producer in Tennessee.

I'm probably best known for my documentaries AMERICAN SCARY or BACKYARD BLOCKBUSTERS.

Or the videos I did with JMS for BABYLON 5. Or STAR WARS art for WizKids. Or several STAR WARS fanfilms. Or the original CRIMSON SKIES.

I just started a ROCKFORD FILES rewatch… loved the show back in the day, and I realize it’s a symptom of TV of the time, but *gawd*, things are glacially paced, with endless long establishing/driving shots with no dialogue… hell, just the recap of Part 1 in Part 2 was over six minutes!

I put TOY STORY 3 on this evening while doing laundry - damn, but the end scenes of Andy leaving the toys with Bonnie still destroys me…

Apparently I needed a good ugly cry…

Share a 90s movie you think deserves more love...

Just an absolutely stacked cast, giving their all in a (to me) wonderful adaptation of a fantastic play. Highly recommended.

absolutely incredible -- CNN host introduces a segment about Trump's "new healthcare proposal," but less than two minutes later breaks into her script to announce "breaking news" that Trump's healthcare proposal is being postponed

Whataburger finally opened a place near me, so I stopped today for a free lunch, since they had a free burger deal in their app.

It’s a burger. I’ve had better - didn’t hold a candle to another burger joint here in town Heather and I prefer.

But hey, free burger. Free is good. :)

Hegseth is pathetic. Absolutely pathetic.
Hegseth is now threatening to recall Sen. Mark Kelly to active duty in order to court martial him.

If what I have works, *it works*, and I see no reason to buy a new whatever just to improve some big company's bottom line.

Americans are holding onto devices longer than ever before, and while it may be consumer smart, it comes at a cost to work productivity and the U.S. economy.

Fascinating read on how a suspicious pitch highlighted a growing problem in freelance journalism: A flood of generative AI that even prestige publications don't catch, complete with fabricated quotes, from scammers who see opportunity in a field so many real humans are struggling to survive in.
Investigating a Possible Scammer in Journalism’s AI Era | The Local
A suspicious pitch from a freelancer led editor Nicholas Hune-Brown to dig into their past work. By the end, four publications, including The Guardian and Dwell, had removed articles from their sites.

I would have enjoyed WICKED part two a whole lot more if it wasn’t for the accursed munchkin behind me who had to sing along to the *whole damn film*…

There’s a toy show promoter in Nashville with delusions of grandeur who just posted a screed on FB alleging other conventions are sabotaging him, because a guest pulled out over work commitments. It’s embarrassing, frankly - I was a guest at one of his past shows, and it was an unorganized mess.

Please don't pick on kids who still believe in Santa Claus. Remember, there are adults who still believe Donald Trump is a good person. Pick on them instead.

10 years ago tonight, had one of the worst nights - ever show up at a film festival for a screening of your film, only to find out the venue is a dump and every single attendee has left, leaving you with an empty house?

Yeah, you don't wanna know what that's like....

It should bother you more than it does that analog clocks have three “hands,” and that the *third* hand is called the *second* hand.

We all just let that happen.

TORPEDO JUNCTION by Homer Hickam - true story about the German U-boat campaign off the US East Coast during WWII. Reads like a spy thriller, but it actually happened.
Ok BlueSky: what are your favorite history books in terms of sheer page-turning, narrative propulsion? Thinking along the line of Killers of the Flower Moon, etc. Nonfiction chronicles that read like novels or movies.
