To my new followers - I'm a filmmaker/animator/TV producer in Tennessee.

I'm probably best known for my documentaries AMERICAN SCARY or BACKYARD BLOCKBUSTERS.

Or the videos I did with JMS for BABYLON 5. Or STAR WARS art for WizKids. Or several STAR WARS fanfilms. Or the original CRIMSON SKIES.

Tagline: "Big Dreams - Tiny Budgets" Cover for a private DVD release of the Official Babylon 5 Music Videos I did with J. Michael Stracsynski, made for cast and crew. The main image is from the season 3 promotional poster. Cover for Microsoft/Zipper Interactive's 2000 PC game CRIMSON SKIES - I created nearly all the animation for the cutscenes in the game.

Shower thought: What if the Illuminati are just the people who learned what that One Weird Trick was?

I'm going to try to catch it this week - my weekend viewings were already booked with TRON and ARMY OF DARKNESS... :)

I found a misplaced box full of the pens I prefer (and don’t see much anymore) a few weeks back that I’d bought and stashed away… I’m set for years, now… :)

I loved reading Vincent Price’s cookbooks…

The theatre also had a practical light cycle on display in the lobby that was the work of my friends Chris Dotson and Jonathan Douglas - unfortunately, riding it was not an option… :)

Pulled out my old ASH VS EVIL DEAD foam chainsaw for ARMY OF DARKNESS tonight - didn’t wear it into the theater, but kinda wish I had, as we had a pretty full house of appreciative fans tonight…

I had nothing against it, and wanted to like it.

It was just.... there. Didn't suck, but wasn't great.

Won't bother with a rewatch.

Pretty sure I lost a job because I mentioned I'd never use A.I. generated footage in my projects in the interview...

Doesn't change the fact that I will *NOT* use A.I. generated slop in my projects...

Using the original TRON arcade game intro music as a ringtone at one point was a cute easter egg....

Didn't much care for the soundtrack... sounded like they were trying *so* hard to emulate what Daft Punk did with LEGACY, in some cases right up to the edges of plagiarism, but not quite... 'twas nice to hear some of Wendy Carlos' original score in there, tho...

And shouldn’t a TRON movie actually have Tron in it? They couldn’t even work up a mention?

It’s not a bad movie - but it ain’t great…

Saw TRON: ARES last night - it’s more a sequel to TRON than LEGACY, which is still the best of the three, IMHO. Bringing the world of the grid into the real world just didn’t work for me - the programs and tech, maybe, but making the physics of light trails work the same way was just a bit too much…

Thanks to my scout troop wanting to see SINBAD AND THE EYE OF THE TIGER and finding *that* sold out (“let’s go see STAR WARS again” someone said) I got to do an end run around my mom’s movie-going plans… :)
johnhudgens.bsky.social
Luckily, even though I didn’t see it until August, I *did* see STAR WARS first. My mom wouldn’t let us see SW because the day before it opened, they ran a trailer for it in front of RACE FOR YOUR LIFE, CHARLIE BROWN that scared the pants off my little sister… PETE’S DRAGON was an Xmas release, IIRC…

Which ones? Looks like that channel is just compiling/swiping a bunch of other reactors' content and repackaging it...

I never caught anyone in library study rooms back in my college days, but I certainly heard stories... however, the empty top floor conference rooms in the humanities tower in the middle of the night? Oh yeah, that was happening - saw that several times in my exploring the campus...
