As the Trump admin predictably rolls the National Guard into the streets and a Republican army of enablers roots for military violence against Americans, some words on why, and the way forward.
The Tyranny of Tiny Men
The way to fight back is not to give up on anyone. The way forward is to stand with each other, for each other.

Republicans really are going to punch themselves in the face purely so they can make Americans suffer.
Who wants to tell Speaker Johnson that Americans are very much interested in ACA subsidies?!?!

Poker isn’t right coded. The loud, selfish assholes who badger people at the table, they’re right coded. Like, they’re never ‘not’ Republicans. But the community as a whole contains multitudes.
what?

Wait, are you saying the health insurance I just signed up for at the weed spot isn’t real? I mean, it would explain some things now that I think about it.
Does he think people can buy health insurance on their local street corner like a dime bag of weed?
Q: Are you going to unveil a healthcare plan?

TRUMP: I like my plan. Don't give money to the insurance companies, give it to people directly and let them go out and buy their own plan

Q: Are you planning to extend ACA subsidies?

T: I'd rather not but it may be necessary to get something else done

Young Ozzie. I love it. Go Sox. 💪💪
[November 25th, 1985] Ozzie Guillen, 21, was named the 1985 American League Rookie of the Year after a standout season with the Chicago White Sox. He hit .273, committed only 12 errors, and had 33 RBI. Guillen was selected in a seven-player trade that sent Cy Young winner LaMarr Hoyt to San Diego.

I’m sorry, you said what about Key Lime pie now? *rolls up sleeves*
Apple pie is bad. This is not really debatable. So is key lime pie, while we’re on the topic. Pecan pie is the 🐐 tho.

NEW: AI “recipe slop” is overrunning search and social. Food creators say Google’s AI Overviews and glossy fake food pics are drowning out real, tested recipes — collapsing traffic and setting home cooks up for disaster, especially this Thanksgiving.

I would pay $5,000 to watch Donald Trump attempt an F45 workout.
Markwayne Mullin on healthcare: "What the president would like to do is say, hey, if you take care of yourself -- you don't smoke, you don't dip, you're not drinking, you're not overweight, you're working out -- then you should pay less than the guy that obviously is not taking care of himself."

I’m sorry, but if Democrats were in power, would this not be in the headlines every single day?
Average electricity cost increase since Jan:

Missouri ⬆️ 37%
Iowa ⬆️ 30%
North Dakota ⬆️ 30%
Oklahoma ⬆️ 30%
New Jersey ⬆️ 27%
Nebraska ⬆️ 25%
Montana ⬆️ 25%
Wyoming ⬆️ 23%

NATIONWIDE ⬆️ 11%

Instead of working to lower costs, Trump is boosting power-hungry AI data centers.

MB1: I’m not sure how we even survive in this environment.

But three months later, there are no signs that the phone has become a reality.

It's funny how this isn't identifiable as a Conservative Opinion but is absolutely the sort of thing that runs on conservative opinion pages. An even split between "the traffic is so bad now" and "Mr. Trump, please exterminate the brutes." A perfectly American intellectual movement in that sense.
At this point, the Washpost edit page is just trolling its readers.

This is today's actual house editorial.
