COUNTRY ANALYSIS: #China's 2035 NDC is unlikely to drive emissions down, but should be understood as a floor not a ceiling.
We project 2025 could mark a year of peak CO2 emissions if current momentum continues.
Its overall rating remains "Highly insufficient"

COUNTRY ANALYSIS: Chile continues to be a global climate leader, making significant progress on climate action in the past year with its rapid renewables expansion, comprehensive planning, & accelerated coal phase-out plan.
One of only a few countries we rate "Almost sufficient"

A study has reportedly found no link between paracetamol use in pregnancy and childhood autism/ADHD - contradicting claims made by Trump in Sept

A YouGov study found 9% of Britons think paracetamol unsafe for pregnant women, but few directly referenced Trump or autism when asked why they think so

A building in Portobello which has been empty for nine years is being left to decay "in plain sight", according to the group of people who want to refurbish the former Art Deco cinema. Officers have recommended that the Planning Committee does not impose a defective building notice on the premises at Bath Street to ensure it becomes wind and watertight.

Looks like a strong autumn for the Omni Centre cycle lane in Edinburgh - possibly linked to the recent introduction of Voi e-bikes?

Otherwise, numbers have stabilised after large increases over the past few years. More infrastructure - particularly cycle hangars - is needed to sustain momentum.

As the EU electrifies more end-use sectors, fossil demand will fall 3x faster than the rise in electricity use – cutting dependence on fossil imports.

Switching from fossil to electricity across energy end-uses boosts efficiency while decarbonising.
