The Trump administration/EEOC is asking Penn for a list of Jewish students, staff, and faculty, in case you were wondering how the weaponization of faux-concern about antisemitism on campuses in the U.S. is going.

So Harvard is keeping this guy, but Claudine Gay had to step down over ginned up plagiarism accusations and bad-faith accusations of anti-Semitism.

Got it.
Larry Summers tells @theharvardcrimson.bsky.social
he’s stepping back from all public commitments in light of his messages with Epstein, saying he is “deeply ashamed” and hopes “to rebuild trust and repair relationships.”

He will continue teaching.

Dear Men:

Almost all of you are friendly with and/or work with men like this.

Until you make it clear WITH YOUR WORDS AND ACTIONS IN SOCIAL SITUATIONS WITH OTHER MEN that you are unwilling to accept this, it will continue to happen frequently.

End your participation in this.
The emails have Summers reporting to Epstein about his attempts to date a Harvard economics student & to hit on her during a seminar she was giving.

This fucking loser is still teaching. They still let him in the same room as undergrads.

I'm so grateful for the mentors I've had in academia and so fucking enraged that predators like this take up any of our space.

Tear him limb from limb and never speak his name again.

This is what happens when we let grifters run things.
RFK Jr. is a big proponent of peptide injections.

They aren’t tested, aren’t FDA-approved, recently caused two women to be hospitalized in critical condition, and make a shit ton of money for dishonest quacks who peddle them.

No wonder he loves them.
The trend of unproven peptides is spreading through influencers and RFK Jr. allies
More Americans are turning to peptides for muscle building, skin rejuvenation, and to try and live longer even though the substances aren’t FDA approved.

If you have tenure at Texas A&M and aren't maliciously emailing the president a dozen times every day to ask if you can say this or you can say that, then what's the point in having tenure?

This is the response to the day. The gloating laughter at these terrible men, the glee of imagined reprisals doesn't sit right with me, while scores of survivors look on without justice.
a heart-aching day. my heart goes out to the survivors who have been denied justice for so long. a little goodnight liesl from her efforts to pin me down this morning.

Hey so “underage girls” are…children. The word you’re looking for is children. They’re not like, women-in-waiting or women-lite or whatever. They’re children. I think some of you are very uncomfortable with what that means for you but it is still true.

Just a gentle reminder that surgeon general nom Casey Means founded a wearables company called Levels and her twin brother Casey Means founded a platform called Truemed to facilitate spending HSA and FSA dollars on wearables and alternative therapies :)
Hmm, interesting too because a lot of wellness grifts (wearables, IV therapy, supplements, etc.) can be paid for with FSA funds. If I'm understanding this, it would mean than wellness grifters are going to be able to make even more money?

Still confused on what the science says about Tylenol and autism? Experts agree that acetaminophen, when used appropriately, safely treats fever and pain during pregnancy. And RFK Jr doesn't know a damn thing about autism.

Finding another awfully done "study" in this "journal" ➡️ googling the authors ➡️ finding one is a teaching prof in an English department (WILD) ➡️ finding his awful rate my prof page filled with complaints like "he really is a weird guy that looks at girls in an uncomfortable way"
Is anyone in public health still following the weird fake journal story?

"Journal of the Academy of Public Health" is now "publishing" articles in advance of peer review.

Is this where we're gonna see fake garbage studies "proving" that vaccines cause autism show up in the coming months?

A student got an award I recommended them for, another has a fascinating thesis project brewing, and another got a lot out of the class activities this week. I got to write letters of recommendation for two students I think are brilliant.

The week was hard, but the highlights were worth it.
Today one of my students told me about a mutual aid group they're involved with. Another asked about a senior thesis looking at white supremacy and evangelical Christianity. Another wants to start a book group with Audre Lorde's Cancer Journals.

They're the light at the end of the tunnel.

Bullshit.

You regret your Nazi tattoo from your Nazi era? Good.

1. You need to make amends to communities of color, Jews, queer folks, etc. That's your life now. It's what you earned.

2. Public political life is not for you. It's a privilege, not a right.

What this story misses:

Some people who are curious about ivermectin as a cancer treatment will see the studies proving it's not effective, and they'll be convinced.

Some won't. Because for them, it isn't about the evidence, it's about the messenger.

We need new messengers, not new evidence.
