hollywood and the american media class in general has done things like this more than once, cyclically, for nearly a century. not just rehabbing abusers exactly but fighting against ANYTHING that gives women political leverage. Susan Faludi's "Backlash" is a pretty good overview of the topic.
I'm flummoxed by the underground movement to rehab cancelled figures. There's a rumor that a studio head is planning to begin bringing cancelled people back. It's bananas. The industry has contracted, leaving writers, directors and actors scrambling for work and we're making space for sex criminals?

the problem with ML is that its best use-case is replacing the middle managers clumsily navigating their own procedures while telling their reports to use AI where it doesn't fucking belong
part of the reason i am genuinely irritated with the gAI/AGI cult is because there is real societal benefits in using ML techniques in medical care + weather analysis, and instead people get annoyed with anything that gets lumped in with the plagiarism machine
