In 2016, when Russia first moved to demand payback for getting Trump elected, they tested two envoys to get to Trump. First, a buddy of Jared Kushner's. Then, W/DMITRIEV SPECIFICALLY, W/Erik Prince.

Prince & Bannon then deleted texts about what went on.

The plan has literally not changed at all.
Did you know that the US hasn’t had an ambassador in Moscow in 6 months?

Or that our chief envoy to Russia won’t take briefings from the CIA?

But wait, there’s more. Much more in this 6-byline WSJ piece on the Witkoff-Putin axis.

DOJ broke the law today by refusing to produce all the Epstein files. It also broke the law by redacting information other than to protect victims. Yet, the corporate media is acting that DOJ did us a huge favor.

The White House has been caught.

The administration inserted a photo of Bill Clinton, Michael Jackson, and Diana Ross into the Epstein files and falsely implied it showed them with victims.

In reality, it’s a publicly available fundraiser photo featuring Jackson and Ross’s own children.

We will never be able to put our country back together until we prosecute those who are breaking the law multiple times a day. It’s what should have happened four years ago and it is a huge part of the reason we are in this mess today.

NB: When I, a professor of law, profess that an act is unlawful, I am not doing it to inform the lawbreaker, but rather to inform you, the reader.

So the question “what, like you think he cares?” is inapposite. The question is whether *you* care. I think you should, which is why I bother.

This winter's economic news, summarized:
1. It looks like the labor market has frozen
2. It looks like inflation is cooling

We can't be sure of either trend given shutdown-related distortions to data collection.

But... it surely pushes the Fed toward cutting rates again.

A growing number of schools across the country use AI-powered surveillance to detect guns and contraband, all in the name of making schools safer.

WTF? ICE is arguing in court that US CITIZENS can be detained, handcuffed, and biometrically screened unless they can prove citizenship on the spot. And that a REAL ID isn't enough. This isn't border security.

The ICC's arrest of former Filipino President Rodrigo Duterte for the killing of drug traffickers by government officials as a crime against humanity may provide precedent for future prosecutions of U.S. officials who ordered airstrikes on alleged drugboats in the Caribbean, writes Charlie Trumbull.
The Administration’s Drug Boat Strikes Are Crimes Against Humanity
Members of Congress are wrong to call the strikes war crimes in the absence of an armed conflict, but the strikes are serious crimes under international law.

It's bad.
Payrolls fell -105k in October and rose +64k in November. August and September payrolls were also revised down a total of 33k.

These data suggest VIRTUALLY NO EMPLOYMENT GROWTH since April ("Liberation day").

Unemployment is now up to 4.6%.

This is a tricky report, so stay tuned.

The VF profile notes Wiles was incorrect about violent Jan. 6 defendants receiving greater-than-recommended sentences, but it doesn’t capture how wildly off base she was. I don’t think there was a single above-guidelines sentence given in a J6 felony case. www.vanityfair.com/news/story/t...
