It’s become increasingly obvious there are huge numbers of very wealthy and very powerful people who have the same level of ignorance combined with internet brain rot as the annoying relatives you have to block on social media and avoid at family gatherings because they are so aggressively stupid.
I am related to two well-educated and very wealthy conservatives, a lawyer and a tech VP. They genuinely believe some absolutely untenable things about the economy and immigration. The genuinely thought that DOGE and the tariffs we going to provide debt relief and jump start the economy.

I’ve become convinced Harris lost for the same reason Trump is losing now. There’s a lot of other less important factors in both cases, but I think it’s mostly about their utter failure to deal with this chart in any way that would make an average person believe they give a fuck about them.
