my go to lunch order in high school (texas) was chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, and gravy, with a biscuit. eat half the steak, put the rest inside the ripped up biscuit, dip it in the potato gravy mixture
my version of a french dip is a meat and mashed potato sando dipping into gravy
