By the dumb standards of your average too-online millenial staffer, its a good meme format. Ironic enough to be deniable and (apparently) really easy to knock out with an image model.

But it's really just that they noticed the first one made people mad online and they think that's hilarious.
Anyone have a theory on the administration's sudden obsession with Franklin the turtle?

low-wage delivery jobs are bad, the robot is cute, and if it's in your way you can just step over/around it.

i'm sorry but the path to fully automated luxury gay space communism includes – surprise! – automation. fix your hearts or die.
Just as you thought food delivery companies couldn't inflict any more misery on society:

Instead of using lowly-paid gig economy contractors to deliver groceries, they're replacing humans with robots, who, in turn, force humans off the pavement into road traffic.

Prosecution should be welcomed as the humane compromise.

DOGE employees should fear extrajudicial murder.

if in 2028 I lose more of my country, it'll be while fighting shoulder to shoulder with my trans brothers and sisters to the bitter fucking end
If he ends up being the Democrat on the presidential ticket in 2028, you would rather vote republican or not vote at all because of this issue?? That’s the million dollar question. Not the hill I would die on and def not worth losing an election over!

First you will come to the Sirens who enchant all who come near them. If any one unwarily draws in too close and hears the singing of the Sirens, his wife and children will never welcome him home again, for they sit in a green field and warble him to death with the sweetness of their song.
you can’t be putting this in the paper (gift link but i do not recommend you use it www.nytimes.com/2025/11/14/s...)

Was Arthur Sulzberger Jr. ever publically accused of misconduct? Because in 2017, Wolff and Epstein seem to think he was about to be.

its because in elite circles, having good connections to other elites is the only social status that matters.

doesn't matter if you raped kids, if you know the president of harvard and the former white house chief council, you can provide introductions that matter more than what crimes you did.
Something that’s so striking in these emails is how…unimpressive Epstein is. He comes off as a pompous, sub-literate lech. Yes everyone is so mortifyingly solicitous of him! All fawning and flattery! Why?????

Welcome on board Amtrak Acela 2153 service from Boston to Washington DC. We'll be traveling on the short route from NY Penn Station to Philadelphia 30th St. Station.

Amtrak wants us to board from the monumental Moynihan hall, but we're using the good old Amtrak waiting area under MSG.

Schumer can be removed from his Dem leadership role this week - 23 Dems (and/or independents) just have to vote to depose him

And they should, given this is his fault.
This is a lovely sentiment but Schumer isn't up for re-election until 2028 and he knows this. At which point he will be 77/78. There's no mechanism to recall a sitting senator AFAIK.
Let’s be clear: Chuck Schumer is the one ending this shutdown, no matter how the votes read.

Chuck Schumer is claiming that he’s voting no, while letting other Senators (Fetterman, Kaine, King, etc) do HIS dirty work.

He must be removed from his leadership & primaried for the sake of this country

I have been actively watching contracts and surge funding over the last few days and what I would say to my friends in Baltimore is “be absolutely ready, right now.”
ICE poised to ramp up raids in Baltimore by Thanksgiving
The Trump administration has rush-ordered infrastructure to conduct raids, abduct residents, and detain people for months.

You should call your senator whether they're on this list or not.

This is a small group of people looking for political cover so they can do something they themselves barely believe in. If the rest of the caucus tells them they're on their own, there's a better chance nobody folds.
Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-NV)
Sen. Richard Durbin (D-IL)
Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA)
Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY)
Sen. Maggie Hassan (D-NH)
Sen. Gary Peters (D-MI)
Sen. Brian Schatz (D-HI)
Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY)
Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-NH)
Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ)

They voted for the last CR

i will never stop yelling about how cheap local news media is to produce and sustain vs. one-off political ad spends.
if someone wants to give me couple hundred mill my two plans to solve this are attacking the rageslop from both ends: funding actual local media at a loss, and also creating apolitical slop that contests the mindshare of libs of TikTok.
Exactly, the problem is that as long as San Francisco can do “weird” local lefty policy stuff that offends someone in Tennessee, there’s no way to counter the “looney left” dems narrative. It’s just not possible. National Dems can move away from this stuff but they’re already doing that

i don't care if the death penality is desired by every person on earth, abolishing it is a moral good. matthew here holds no such values and he is a sadder, weaker man for it.
Here with yellow checkmarks we have five examples of real things that Gavin Newsom and leading California Democrats espouse. Not a straw man.

My take is Democrats should drop these ideas, ideas that do not sound at all like economic populism to me.
