One* thing I really, desperately, want for neurodivergent folks (and queer/trans folks, and disabled folks, which have many overlaps) is for y'all to stop trying to flatten your experiences.

Just finished my first listen. I've been listening to Dylan's songwriting since college. "Song for Shrimpie" is maybe the most personal, heartfelt thing I've ever heard from him, & it's absolutely beautiful. Consistently impressed & touched by the places he's willing to go in his songwriting. Bravo!

I'm always confused when writers change the plot because a reader figured out what was coming. Surely that's good? Surely that means the breadcrumbs have been laid out appropriately?

I was diagnosed with #HIV in 1998, when I was 30.
Many of my friends had died of AIDS. I did not expect to live to 50.
I’m 58 now.
HIV treatment works.
Treatment also makes it impossible for me to pass HIV on during sex.
Ensure HIV treatment for all.

One of the best worldbuilding guides you can read is Tolkien's notes on translation, where he talks about the fact that *everything* you write is in practice being translated into English; is is no more anachronistic to use the word "September" than it is use the word "sword" or "house" or "hello".
Not sure how I feel when a book tells me that instead of "12 months" they have "10 arcs," which are each 40 days long, and they all have names like Blossomarc, Flamearc Snowarc,.... I appreciate the world building, but couldnt we have just kept the calendar the same?
