Worth remembering AI hype is a mostly US centric phenomenon- as goes AI so goes the US, at a time when the country has essentially self-isolated. I view the wrong dominoes falling less as a black swan event & more something to hedge a portfolio against.

Most books on personal improvement (I'm reading one now that shall remain nameless) spend the first 80-120 pages describing what you are going to learn in the remaining 20-30 pages. Padding your content to turn an essay into a book is never one of the lessons though.
