Right - you could be a diehard partisan back then and still avoid elements of criminality. Diehard partisans today have to be comfortable with habitualized criminality.

We haven't run rampant or been at our free-flowing best this season for any kind of extended period IMO. Too many games in a busy season to showcase quality football. As well you wonder if players don't just get flat-out bored on occasion. They are human. This might be how to win a title.

You know you're the mark when the math works out at $70,000 per adult & nothing about that strikes you as odd.

A lesson in brand destruction, combined with a lack of freshness, focus & governance. A little bit like America. Not sure how the better tech bros distance themselves from an admin they have so visibly aligned themselves with but that's for another post.

No major political parties are going to fix this unless forced to. How do we force them? - withdrawal of labor and services. One day a quarter. Then two, then three. Is the will there to do this? - not yet. Unfortunately that things will have to get worse.

It's not a case of being cowardly, it's a revenue thing. If Ofcom allowed it most British media outlets would sell their own mothers if it increased revenue. You won't reform them, or shame them, the best weapon we have is ratings.

They have already answered that question by their inaction. It's like asking if climate change is real while your standing knee deep in flood water.

The televised lack of class has become the product, preening vanity is now entertainment. We have bifurcated society, but in another sense it's a mirror. Nobody forces us to watch, to tolerate it. We aren't literally writing them a cheque, but we ARE paying indirectly, economically, morally.

The EU will be around for atleast as long as it takes Tesla to launch FSD, so pretty much indefinitely.

Fresh footage, ready and waiting, whether we need it or not of Americans perpetrating violence on other Americans has become part of the social media log in process. It's sad, awkward, laid bare. I know I have had enough of it, and I'm not even American.

Not remotely interested in proving anyone on the internet right or wrong but we just lost an away game in the 95th minute to the team in 3rd place and the wheels are falling off? - take a deep breath.

Before he ascended to Chancellor & eventually Führer, Hitler was seen as a hot-head. A weirdo w/no social skills with a penchant for harangues & incendiary rants. His predecessor, Hindenburg, suspended civil liberties and gave the Nazi regime sweeping powers before he died.
