Of course the elite who harm women and children for fun also plan and execute heinous war crimes and crimes against humanity including genocides at unimaginable scales for their day jobs!

We must connect the dots on how personal and political are inextricable.

UPDATE: according to reports from Tigray regional state television, drone strikes targeted trucks in two north-east Tigray towns at 4AM local time. A driver was killed, another is injured.

These would be the first civilian casualties of drone strikes in Tigray, since the Tigray war ended in 2022.

It’s the anniversary of Citizens United today so I’m back in my bullshit about the role of oil companies in the corporate free speech movement and how they are trying to expand it even further at the moment. We did a whole podcast season on it: drilled.media/podcasts/dri...

With our high unemployment rates, I don't understand why we still have retired civil servants, getting their time extended via contract. I appreciate wanting to keep institutional knowledge, but why is there no succession plan that kicks in!? Someone retiring is not a tada. We need to do better.

We need to get more philanthropic NGO funding in Botswana. I feel because a lot NGOs are government-funded in/directly, it stifles their potential criticism of government. Criticism could be beneficial to both government and push social justice. But then, "O ja ka o he, o bua ka o he" basically.

Nobody is perfect. Nobody speaks perfectly. We need to have grace for each other.

And we need to believe people when they tell us or show us who they are.

And when we see evil, we need to call it evil.
"It is what it is".
And we must not tolerate it.
Call it out & reject it.

It is absolutely crazy to me that people talk about crying 3 to 5 times a week and consider it a normal part of work culture. Insane to me.

Of late, under the new administration, we keep using the term "Indigenous People" in Botswana, which is not institutional recognised by the government. I hope we move it to text quickly under the current administration that has finally embraced the phrase.

Botswana CSOs are struggling to get climate action funding. We have a plastic levy that we've been collecting for years and are lead to believe is sitting untouched. Perhaps levy funds as grants to CSO for climate action? 🤷🏾‍♀️

Some people seem not to be able to grasp - even now! - that it's up to us to not sacrifice anyone in our own communities. Solidarity means everyone. If someone decides not to claim us- fine! That's on them and is out of our control. But these people will take any opening to eliminate all of us.

🚨BREAKING: World leaders have been UNABLE to reach an agreement at the Global Plastics Treaty talks for limits on plastic production.

Over 234 fossil fuel and plastic industry LOBBYISTS came to the talks to hijack progress.

Who else thinks lobbyists should be BANNED from future talks?

The apparent collapse of global plastic treaty talks yet again is a disgrace.

Fossil fuel interests are holding the world hostage while plastic chokes our oceans and threatens future generations.

The UK must stand firm and demand a treaty that cuts plastic at the source.
