had a nice fellow from the police knock on my door to tell me to please stay inside and keep dogs inside while they serve a warrant on a neighbor we share a back fence with. so that was fun, and the dogs of course now want to go outside so badly.

there's a small pizza place near me where the owner actively gives back to the community, hires people who need a 2nd chance, and the pizza is fucking great (subjective opinion but it is the favorite of the little humans i know who love pizza)
Late-stage MAGA means accepting that things will never be great again

Expel the yes votes from the party and cut off all their access to fundraising, then remove Schumer from leadership. Anything less is mealy-mouthed coward bullshit.
As this vote moves to the House, I stand with Democratic leadership as they refuse to rubber stamp the full-scale Republican assault on Americans’ health care and I am proud of the majority of Senate Democrats who opposed this vote.

You may not agree, but I think it’s time for Dems from coast to coast to run on Medicare for all.

We do NOT need health insurance companies at all.

Period.

They serve no valuable societal purpose other than to add cost to healthcare and drive people crazy.

"what is any ocean, but a multitude of drops" is such a good counterpoint in my mind to the idea of a small effort being a drop in the ocean.

today has been a day of 800 little frustrations and everything going wrong, not in any sort of disastrous way but at least if it was something bigger i wouldn't feel whiny complaining about it. but in the balance, maybe tomorrow will be lots of good little wins.

Reminder:

Food banks need money more than food!

They have access to buying things cheaper than you do, and they know what the community needs better than we do!

We really need to make "republicans crash the economy every time they have power" a top line issue imo
I still talk to people who think Trump is obviously good for the US economy.

The amount of actual exposure to real current affairs most people get is microscopic.

It's all just vibes out there.
and this is why economic credibility is important folks

I think any story about Trump's autocracy should be mostly about the people and institutions who failed to stop it. This guy isn't a political genius, everything else just happens to be rotten. 'Toddler Consolidates Power In Household' is a story about incompetent parents, not shrewd maneuvering

after over 2 years of mostly weekly sessions, 3 pc deaths, and a few roster changes for various reasons, my players have completed the pf2e abomination vaults adventure path. this is the 1st time i've ever successfully completed a published adventure beginning to end, feels crazy

And the craziest part is this was needless. Congress would've passed a military pay bill with near unanimous support! Congressional Ds have been begging Rs to bring a bill to pay the military to the floor! But Johnson refuses to gavel in because he doesn't want an Epstein vote.

i did not realize this monkey/circus line was something new but i am now realizing the person i've heard say it for ages is from a very polish family
Poland’s two biggest cultural exports in the 21st century:

1. The Witcher
2. The saying „not my circus, not my monkeys”

(heard now on yet another English language TV show)
