this is very funny, but to be earnest for a moment: the same guys setting $10M on fire here are the ones who can’t stand the idea of buses being free, of rent being affordable, of anything at all being easier for all the people for whom $10M would be an unimaginably transformative amount of money

Looks like the Dems will pick up 12 seats in the VA House of Delegates, which will go from 51-49 to 63-37 D-R. That's an honestly shocking result.

I feel like this is an important aspect to emphasize, loudly, to everyone who endorsed Cuomo. they chose to side with a known sexual predator for personal gain and frankly that should be disqualifying for public office. you knew who he was and decided the women he hurt were acceptable losses
it's been a really bad long shitty time for people who care about victims of rape and sexual abuse, and those who've suffered it. drubbing someone who perpetrated it gleefully and believed he was entitled to power despite it is part of this.

As an historian, I think it's bad when "blood libel" goes from denoting a very specific part of anti-Jewish history rooted in particular forms of medieval Christian anti-Judaism, to just meaning any criticism of Israel. A whole generation won't understand just how bad the actual blood libel was!
