A hard, necessary read
Court watchers have built what they call a "habeas machine" with @repdangoldman.bsky.social.

For months, the congressman'office has been a rapid response center.

Families go there after a loved one is detained and lawyers immediately get on the case.

If only there had been any evidence of him shaking down state lawmakers of his own party to "find" him votes in 2020
This should be the biggest story in the country right now. The sitting US President was extorting state lawmakers from his own party by threatening to withhold public money if they didn’t gerrymander for him.

I don’t know how else to say it…

Still trying to understand how the guy who introduced this is the guy some of y’all wanna primary because he’s not “fighting” or “meeting the moment” enough.

Rep. Goldman introduced the damn bill to force the masks off.

Christmas celebrating pals…even though I have seen so many Christmases, and even opened a Christmas cracker, I still have no idea why there are crowns in them that people wear?

What is the crown Christmas connection?

Dan Goldman was lead counsel for House Dems during the 1st impeachment inquiry, introduced a bill to place a 20% excise tax on loans & lines of credit backed by capital assets, has secured 160 million to improve NYC’s climate resiliency, & is a great “fighter” & messenger. This is a waste of time.
I’m running for Congress because we need leaders who will fight, not fold. I recognize this moment, and I’m ready to meet it. #FightDontFold #LanderForNYC #LanderForCongress

NY should definitely throw over one of the best investigators in Congress, an invaluable member of the first Trump impeachment team, because Brad Lander (who did not have the political chops to secure the Mamdani admin job he wanted) is accessible to NYC photographers

Begging people to be serious.

Perhaps Trump expects the press to ignore the issue of his aging because they did last year while writing books about his opponent’s aging
Trump objects to reports about his obvious aging, saying “it’s seditious, perhaps even treasonous, for The New York Times, and others, to consistently do FAKE reports in order to libel and demean ‘THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES.’“

It isn’t. And the reports aren’t fake.

The VRA’s effectively dying in a few months when this conservative-majority SCOTUS rules on Louisiana v Callais so figure out your plans early. This week reaffirmed that the Senate is winnable. You need to vote for more Democrats in the House & Senate. It doesn’t matter if you’re in love with them.

Just watched ShowBusiness: The Road To Broadway, a terribly-titled but excellent documentary about the 2003-4 Broadway season. The creators had BANANAS good luck with their storyline: It’s about the production & Tony’s race for Wicked, Avenue Q, Caroline: or Change and the Boy George musical Taboo…

The TN-7 special election showed a similar blue shift to the November elections, which means there are a couple dozen incumbent Republicans currently freaking out today.

DOJ says immigration judges, as "inferior officers," may be fired on the basis of sex, religion, race, or national origin. Leaving aside the law, it's *politically* remarkable they're taking this position.

Anyone who has raised a toddler will recognize this
The funny thing about SCOTUS' almost maximum cowardice strategy of saying no only under the most ludicrously extreme circumstances is that said strategy guarantees reaching those circumstances *frequently* as Trump tries to push up to (and beyond) the very limit of the abuse he can get away with.
So cool how scotus has enabled this behavior every step of the way as well
