Today has been gutting but I’m finding light in the story of Ahmed al-Ahmed, the hero who tackled and disarmed one of the antisemitic gunmen today in Australia. Ahmed was shot but thankfully expected to recover.
We are shattered by the antisemitic mass shooting at a Hanukkah event in Australia. Antisemitism is a crisis that demands urgent, comprehensive action to keep all our communities safe.

I was up in the middle of the night watching Australian news coverage.
They were asking Australians on the street for their reactions, and one of them said that, prior to today, they had only seen mass shootings through American TV footage.
What a shameful and terrible legacy our country has.
