Trying to be positive and look on the bright side of everything

Hello, hi
I'm #autistic "and also happy" because I am choosing to find the small joys in life and make them big in my life, and also being autistic contains expanded opportunities for joy and I'm appreciating that.
Much autistic pain comes from living in a world without accommodation/understanding.

There is a misnomer that adults suddenly receive some kind of support when we identify that we are Autistic.

Arguably the biggest impact is realizing and accepting that typical environments and interactions are often inherently overwhelming to us, and adapting, informed, to that knowledge.

Noah Michaels, 26, who recently began online dating, has so far been unsuccessful, despite receiving repeated hints from his long-suffering phone on how to mimic a vaguely normal-sounding interaction.

An autistic man’s predictive text is desperately trying to help him bring the banter - or, at the very least, stop him from putting his digital foot in his digital mouth, it has been revealed.  Noah…

Everything feels wrong and chaotic and like I am having a panic attack, screaming in the back of my mind, because there are two people in my house that normally are not, and I am not sleeping in my bed, and several boxes of stuff have been moved into my home office.

I would love to know the psychology behind the "Oh, this person clearly hates a thing, let me reply with that very thing."

WAIT JUST A GOSH DARN MINUTE
You are telling me, an #autistic person, that I actually live in a country that has the most direct and clear communication of almost any in the world (yet I still am considered way too blunt and direct myself)??!? How on earth do Japanese autistic people cope?! 😭

Extremely relatable content
As an AuDHDer ... if you ask me how I am handling a given situation ... and I say "This is fine" ... I mean ... this *exact* precarious situation is currently viable and can be tolerated for the time being ... but even a minor shift might be more than I can deal with.

Hi, is it an #autistic thing to have an emotional hangover? Like, omg, I felt so many things today that I am exhausted and I can't go to work tomorrow because it would take reserves I don't have to deal with people?

I got to educate a health professional about #autism today and it was very cool because he listened and was introspective about how what I explained about #autistic experience might inform his care of other patients.

I don't make the rules.
This is perfectly correct.

There is a proper amount of pedantic. Too little, and people are going through their lives being wrong. We can't have that.

Too much, and you're just being controlling. It stifles freedom & creativity.

People just need to be pedantic about their pedantic-ness. </s>
It's very funny to me that as an autistic person I am somewhat triggered when people are too pedantic.

Like, if you're incorrect I will correct you and I'll be like, I'm not being pedantic but if someone else is 0.00001% more pedantic than I am I get so mad

If your first reaction to "there's an autistic Barbie now" is "WhAT aBOuT thE MeN?!"
then may I suggest a very small amount of self-reflection and empathy, perhaps as a treat?

SURELY someone smarter than me has already noted that every horrific action causing the US govt to say #Venezuela is an unsafe country to travel to, the US government is also doing RIGHT NOW within the US, when acting using #ICE or #CBP, against US citizens as well as other people?
