aging rock stars, prominent economists, theoretical physicists ...
We’ve also increased the minimum socially acceptable age that a woman can be considered sexually available for men.

Conservatives really hate this.

(This is why I think so many aging rock stars went all in against “cancel culture” and me too.)

Car nostalgia like this is just nuts to me.
Many older cars, of course, look cool. But they're also less fuel efficient and much less safe, with fewer creature comforts and also generally much less reliable.
Sean Duffy on slashing fuel economy standards: "This rule will actually allow you to bring back the 1970s station wagon. Maybe a little wood paneling on the side. We can bring back choice to consumers."

I feel like the West getting cold feet about helping Syrians get rid of Assad in 2011, causing millions of Syrian refugees, is basically responsible for the resulting the far-right, xenophobic backlash in the US and Europe, and emboldening Putin to boot.

Developing a unified theory of the dominant modes of rhetoric in Dem politics that I think are annoying.
“Progslop” is the assertion southern white people would vote for socialists if they heard their message about universal healthcare.

“Modslop” is the assertion Dems could win southern white people if they spent their whole campaigns reacting to Republican talking points.

I will give an *extremely* limited defense of this in that a congressional stock trading ban probably should be coupled with a significant bump in congressional pay.
Rep. Roger Williams defends members of Congress trading stocks: "I think we gotta be careful that we don't limit Congresspeople to where they can do nothing ... from a financial standpoint, it's not easy being up in Congress."

i think a lot about how the collapse of reconstruction was in the event a result of macroeconomic mistakes by republicans--the panic of 1873 leading directly to the corrupt bargain of 1877
i think it's funny how MAGA could have probably run the economy hands off while inflation came down and growth came up and won Gen Z voters but instead are likely going to be associated with moving voters back to the social democratic/democratic socialist Left
the comments to this Fox News article are so fucking funny, man

I think the reason that ‘civic duty socialism’, or ‘socialism with small c conservative characteristics’ is having a moment in left of center circles is that the long hangover of the 60s, where the assumption was that the median citizen would be a square too trusting, too patriotic, is finally over.

the primary thing that TPUSA provides to young conservatives is a blueprint for weaponizing the abject cowardice of university administrators against individual teachers and instructors, and university admins should take a long look in the mirror and think about what that says about them
