Shared Fantasy, the first sociological monograph about roleplaying games, is about a period when established players are dealing with a new wave of younger players with different priorities. The period is 1978.
A game where you can do anything and they’re mad that people are doing anything.

I had to cuss my ex out several times over using the phrase “what is wrong with you” when the kids acted up. He couldn’t connect how his undiagnosed parents spoke to & about him to his own experience as an undiagnosed autistic child.
DO YOU KNOW HOW INSUFFERABLE NEUROTYPICAL PEOPLE CAN BE?!

How about I follow you around daily calling you weird, telling you being you is doing it all wrong, hollering at you about your lack of drive, calling you lazy, disorganized and an all-around problem and let’s see if you want some meds

A whole lot of fuckers 'on the left' or 'in the center' gotta realize they are repressed, hold bigoted bias against some skin colors or types of people, or other shit and just be like 'well obviously my first gut reaction isnt the whole story and im not immune to social conditioning so what's up?'

I had ordered a Crab Facts advent calendar last year for my 8yo & this year intended to give her Eel Facts but I accidentally sent it to her cousins, last night her face fell when she opened up crab facts. So I spent last night making Axolotl facts, today’s was a basic one: axolotls are salamanders.
