Santa Ragione spoke up, but how many more won't because of this exact problem? If you're a primarily PC developer, Steam *is* your lifeblood. Steam might be great for consumers but they are absolutely, 100% a monopoly and it isn't healthy that their competitors are not viable.

the whole "don't play the game, just watch a video on youtube that will explain its story to you" is so disheartening because the issue of accessibility is genuinely really important but it's always just people who want to be spoon-fed nicely quantifiable information

I swear almost everything I've seen him do or say that wasn't in a script he looked either kinda or very much like an asshole

this point really hits the nail on the head of why localization workers are so frustrated by “AI” loc companies.
freelancers have to beg for a single dollar wage increase, while tens of millions are dumped into a machine designed to replace them.

one of the things that makes me most mad about genAI (and there are many) is we've been told there's not enough money for hiring. but there's billions poured into ai.
so not enough money to hire workers. but infinite money to pour into technology whose goal is never having to pay workers again.

It saddens me that the Xbox 360 overlapped with the era of Japanese racism in Western gaming. It was a safe haven for genres like shmups and visual novels after Sony told them to fuck off from the PS3. It pushed the envelope in many ways yet Microsoft pissed all that momentum away ever since.

It's genuinely funny to me how despite how similar the games are in many ways, I ended up feeling far better about Silksong than I ever did the original Hollow Knight. Games are weird man.
