More interesting when it’s a great movie that you can’t bring yourself to rewatch. For me that would be Lynch’s The Elephant Man which I saw in the theater when I was around 8-9.
Never mind movies you’ve watched multiple times, name a movie you’ve watched once and would never watch again.

Probably Wendell Berry’s Jayber Crow.
omg. Kat Abughazaleh just posted that if she's elected, she'll swear in on a copy of Octavia Butler's Parable of the Sower.

If you were elected to public office (never mind whether you'd ever actually run), what book would you swear in on?

Sometimes I still associate the term “charismatic” with “speaks in tongues and believes in divine healing…”
You're showing your age if you think Popes need to be charismatic to be effective. Pope Paul VI wasn't charismatic and was arguably the most influential pope of the 20th century.

All these new drugs I see on TV sound like they were named by Jean-Ralphio on Parks and Recreation.

Stranger Than Paradise introduced me to the world of independent film when I saw it on cable at age 15. Changed my whole perspective.
What movie are you most thankful for? (not necessarily your favorite!)

Nothing worthwhile is without cost. We get off early today, but not before a meeting with people with whom I constantly have to repress my long-simmering contempt…
There will be alcohol waiting in a few short hours. Eyes on the prize.

It’s so funny listening to classical music on a streaming app. “Be sure to like and follow Pyotyr Ilyich Tchaikovsky to be the first to know about new releases and tour dates”
