Doing Christmas shit with the kiddo

"Jessie's Girl" by Rick Springfield taught me 'moot"...

"I wanna tell her that I love her
But the point is probably moot"

Impressed the fuck out of my elementary school teacher when I used it in a sentence.
Here's a question I've enjoyed asking on various social media platforms. What are vocabulary words you have learned from songs? For example, I learned the word "raze" from REM's World Leader Pretend.

Your work, @briannaduggan.bsky.social, it's stunning, as usual! ♥️

Add this to your collection like I did awhile back! Happy Christmas to yourself!
While I'm on COTTON COMES TO HARLEM and Ossie's birthday: my book BLACK CAESARS AND FOXY CLEOPATRAS: A HISTORY OF BLAXPLOITATION CINEMA covers how Davis made that film. Makes a great Christmas gift, folks! In book or audiobook form (yes, I read the audiobook).

Kiddo's first trip to the movie theatre was 9 years ago today to see ROGUE ONE. That day started a love affair with film. He's 15 now. He's watched 296 movies so far this year!

Kiddo loves SPINAL TAP. He's seen it 3 times so far. He was crushed about Rob Reiner news. He had asked for TAP on Criterion for Xmas. Got it 1/2 off last month. He wanted to watch TAP last night in honor of Reiner so, under the circumstances, we went ahead & gave him the Blu early.

Kiddo just asked me to take him to see REDS, CHRISTIANNE F, and all the TWIN PEAKS season 1 episodes they are showing in the theatre next month. I wish I was that cool at 15.

HEB is a pretty good company to work for; they gave us all a $120 gift card, a beanie, & some socks. There's a keychain, too, but they didn't ship them to all stores yet. Happy to get that card to buy groceries this week.

Working a 4 hour shift at HEB today. Been here over 2 hours already. On a break.

Finally going to get to see THE SECRET AGENT tonight.
