Weak, weak, weak. This appeasement must end.

Starmer should be uniting with our allies against Trump's threats, not splitting off to suck up to him.

Maybe Bernie should speak up against the United States threatening Greenland, Denmark, and Europe as a whole too, instead of making stupid jokes?
i feel like Americans don't get the level of eye-rolling this is getting from Europe

Democrats could act like a real opposition party, refusing to validate Trump malfeasance with votes, and setting up a shadow cabinet that regularly communicates how Democrats would be different. But nah.

It’s not only a majority of Democratic voters that hate this approach. US allies see it too.
The incredibly lukewarm Democratic response on Greenland is being noticed in Europe, incidentally.

Chuck Schumer not finding a stronger word than “quixotic” for Trump’s plan to seize Greenland has been name checked to me more than once.
But Americans who want to save the alliance with Europe must have no illusions about how bad a condition this transatlantic partnership is in.

Looks like the EU-US trade deal is now dead, with all three major groups in the EU Parliament calling at least for suspension. The downward spiral has already begun.

I think it would be a good idea for D politicians to be declaring this publicly, pre-emptively. They should state it as an abstract, legal proposition: an order by the President to seize Greenland would be unlawful, here's why. Trump does not have the legal right to attack a NATO ally. Say it.
If the U.S. military is given direct orders to seize Greenland—pull down another nation’s flag, and then claim the ground in the name of the United States—every senior commander has a moral obligation to refuse to accept or support such a command.

A few reflections on the US in the darkness of Trump:
1. The US is unable to defend any values.
2. The US lacks all checks & balances.
3. The US establishment is cowardly & ineffective.
Shut up about the free & brave!
They are elsewhere, in Ukraine for example.

This is coming from the United States Government. It's awful, a brutal threat of aggression.
Seriously, shame on all you Americans who have let it come to this! If you don't want to go down in history like complete, spineless, fascist-followers you better take some responsibility, and that fast.

Donald Trump is scared out of his mind that Republicans are going to lose the House in the midterms, if not sooner given how fast things are unraveling, which is why he’s accelerating his authoritarian and fascist plans at a pace we’ve never seen before. This isn’t confidence, it’s panic.

It’s a direct challenge to Britain’s security and the future of NATO.

It's time to fight back and remove "US big tech" from power.

Canada, UK, EU, should all be investing massively in domestic tech solutions as a strategic priority.

Failure to do so, urgently, will be catastrophic. That's my assessment, based on very clear evidence, and I'm sticking to it.

Just as Russia won't stop at Ukraine, the United States won't stop at Venezuela, and Greenland.

This makes the Greenland matter infinitely more important than most people might imagine.

The United States cannot be allowed to invade Greenland.

It's a line that cannot be crossed.
