There is a lot more viewing than folks think. The Star Trek Academy podcast has seen way more uptick for downloads than they have for other new era trek. I mean that’s pretty weird if people aren’t watching.

AI filmmaking is completely unserious.

You've got people with $30k begging the internet for ideas by next week because they have nothing of their own to say, it's just slop for the sake of slop. Embarrassing state of affairs.

I spent my childhood inside of American concentration camps. I know one when I see one. And that is what ICE is building.

Anyone claiming Star Trek is right leaning or that Picard would support ICE did not actually watch the show or anything related to TNG. Don't even start talking about Deep Space Nine.

This image was low-res I remade it at a higher res. Feel free to spread it around.

Every time I hear some #TrumpHumper say Star Trek is too WOKE, I tell them "Star Trek has ALWAYS been WOKE, and anyone that uses WOKE as an epithet, is not welcome as a fan in the Star Trek universe😈
That seems to make them really mad! I wonder why?

The important thing to remember is that these chuds don't know or don't care about facts, precedent, history or values. All they care about is stirring up shit and discord as a means of furthering their own ends. Nothing they say is in good faith.

'I don't like star trek academy' is now the Trek fans equivalent of boomers leaving reviews that say 'I haven't been to this restaurant, 0 stars' or 'This recepie is awful. It had too much sugar and didn't need to be cooked so I swapped it for 50 grams of protine shake and destroyed my oven'.

It is super frustrating discussing Starfleet Academy with critics because so many of their complaints are just signs they don't watch the show but draw random complaints from screenshots. They don't engage with the material, just hate for hate's sake.

A Star Trek show with with men wearing dress, an atypical Klingon in Starfleet, a person with a disability visible and atypical women in positions they typically haven’t had in Trek before?!?!? How dare they?!? How woke!

The Next Generation is wildly woke.

I will cheerily read a comic about Spider-Man in his 20s or watch a Star Trek show about teens, but if I don't like it (and believe me, I often don't) I don't start thinking the rot is with out-of-touch creators and showrunners. Simply understand that they're working to a different brief.

I see a lot of online discourse that is essentially "this thing I like should only be aimed at people like me" and like... I get it, it's hard to let go. But if your problem is that corporate IP continues to be corporate IP, you don't need Spider-Man to be aged up, you need to get new interests.

Respectfully hard disagree, have been waiting for contemporary music since TNG era. The idea that some of Earth's most influential and listened to music would more or less disappear and only classical, opera, and jazz would survive is oddly unST. Academy being aimed at YA audience pop music fits.

Riiiiighht? So scandalous and tasteless to have any kind of sex or intimacy in Star Trek. What if her fallopian tubes were on the outside of her body and his appendage was too large to fit? I mean does no one think about complications of biological dissimilarities? Anyways, here's a clip.

Academy is Star Trek through and through, and I love it so far.

Sometimes in Trek movies/shows, the core message gets muddled by a bad script or plot, but only one Star Trek has ever failed to embrace the message even in the slightest, and that was Section 31.

Step 1: Don't watch Star Trek
Step 2: Be a weird homophobe

John Logan said something on Frakes and Spiner's podcast that dropped yesterday and it really struck me, it was along the lines of "if Star Trek becomes nostalgia, we lose Star Trek" and that's all these people want, they want nostalgia

Star Trek has changed over the years. The Star Trek that was made in the 60s and the Star Trek being made in the 2020s are very different beast, presented and constructed differently.

I believe that the core message is the same, even if it looks different. I like that it grows

More comedians in Star Trek! God, it's so great to see her doing broad reactions in the backgrounds of scenes.

"If it kills you. Welcome to Xenobiology."

So far, Academy is everything I've wanted in a Starfleet Academy show. I'm here for it.

Watching Star Trek Fandom melt down every time a new show comes out is a good reminder how much fandoms suck.

Don’t worry Trekkies, you suck just as much as every other fandom, so don’t feel special.

I don't get how you can be a conservative, especially a fascist, and call yourself a Trekkie when Star Trek has always been "woke" and inclusive.

These chuds would have lost their minds when Kirk and Uhura kissed, about Geordi, about the diversity of DS9, about Captain Janeway.
