It is amusing to think that 40 years ago we had a nationwide panic to stop kids from playing Satanic RPG's that would warp their mind, when what we should have been doing was hunting down and destroying high school debate clubs with the ferocity of a Butlerian jihad.
He argued with civility. It's a start.
What disagreements, exactly, was he bridging via his work and words?

Just for perspective, a few weeks ago roughly 100,000 turned up for the London Trans+ Pride march. By contrast fewer than 3,000 ACROSS THE WHOLE COUNTRY, have turned up to anti-asylum "protests". Yet we are meant to take the latter as "the voice of the people" and the former as "the minority".

I’ve gone from ‘this version of Labour wouldn’t have repealed Section 28’ to ‘this version of Labour would have enthusiastically introduced Section 28’
🆕🚨 New statutory Relationships and Sex Education guidance published today will:

- Restrict schools from using materials that "encourage pupils to question their gender"
- Teaches children the laws about "biological sex"
- Removes all references to the word transgender

What we know so far 🧵

There's rain in Birmingham.

Screw the grass, plants, or trees; the George needs this.

You’re telling me that right wing voters that Labour was trying to appeal to voted for a right wing party anyway and left wing voters decided not to vote for Labour because they’re too right wing now? Who could have possibly predicted this.

people sometimes say ACAB doesn’t include Sam Vimes and I submit that this is exactly backwards

ACAB absolutely includes Sam Vimes and nobody is more aware of that than Sam Vimes

A trans woman wrote to Wetherspoons to ask which toilets they're meant to use. Wetherspoons replied acknowledging the Supreme Court's verdict...and that trans customers can use whichever loos they want to but to please lock the cubicle door.

Labour now being outflanked on the left by Wetherspoons.

Recruitment should never have taken off as an industry

Everything is worse because we let 22 year old deanos who played rugby and coasted to a 2:2 in clearingology from the faculty of humanities and clearing at the University of Clearing, who love Dubai, who know nothing, hire people.

I don't think about the sexual partners I've had in terms of "Body Count." Instead I add up all their weights and contemplate the Gross Tonnage

This is a perfect sentence:

"All we’ve gotten in the past decade is example after example of how little these people know about anything other than making apps that destroy something you previously loved, by hollowing it out into a subscription service that no longer works and everyone hates."

I wouldn't say oblivious, per se, more that I don't believe it would be in anyone else's best interest to do it
How oblivious to flirting are you? When I was 19-21, I was convinced that the girl that came to my apartment like 3 times a week and usually sat on my lap was just a good pal

There are piles of "stuff" in the single room at my parents'.
Ornaments moved when redecorating three years ago. Kids toys from my niblings, which can't be gotten rid of.
Kids toys from when I was a child, that haven't been gotten rid of.
The dehumidifier, vacuum, tower fan.
