A fluff artist and forever dm. I love OCs and talking about them more than anything ever.
Me and all my homies hate genA/I.

Even the most well intentioned and "uniformed" studios/publishers etc needs to feel a flame so hot when they touch on this that they're scarred for life, I'm sorry.

The collateral damage being a studio's *reputation* is nothing compared to the creatives whose work was stolen just to replace them.

I think this is why fascists love AI art, not because it is good, but because it is bad. Not because it is original, but because it is stolen.

To make art as an expression of skill and craft and humanity reinforces humanity.

To push a button that steals art and call it your own is domination.

We spoke to a dozen professional concept artists who are currently or have previously worked in game development about whether generative AI image tools have made their jobs any easier.

Zero said it did. Most said it made things harder.

Concept Artists Say Generative AI References Only Make Their Jobs Harder
“The ‘early ideation stages’, when worlds are being fleshed out by writers and artists, are literally crucial to the development of a game’s vision,” said one artist.

A bright warm moment in the bleak of this week.
Today my township had a meeting about a new data center rezone for gen ai business. I went with my partner to state our feelings. I assumed it would be a small turn out and an awkward thing- a room of much older folks looking to discuss other topics.

“Wouldn’t it be nice if you could ask anyone anything in an RPG?” he asked.

AI could boil through a dozen lakes and still never come up with anything as good as this.

usually you don't have to loudly insist that something is here to stay. it just stays and is self-evidently sticking around. this stuff hasn't proven to be useful in areas outside of fraud.

Anyway. My cat is real. He is good. He knows when to headbutt my phone out of my hand and purr loudly and somersault into my lap.

Thanks Constable.

Ok and I'm still not entirely done shouting today so- lemme just say I think its hilariously telling how every ad I see for a/i proudly demonstrates... things most phones and computers have been doing for a decade...

This is it. This is why folks are upset about concept art and power points and temporary text and the like.

I do not care how shiny and nice you clean it up, I care that artists, coders, writers, and all other creatives are fairly treated and compensated and credited. A/I does not allow for that.
Every writer who generates a slop image for their work is a class traitor.

"I can't afford a visual artist"

So your solution is stabbing artists in the back? Stealing from them?

Furthermore, slop-generated imagery suggests slop-generated writing. That's how you're presenting yourself.

This is a very divided vote. It means we've been encouraging dissent. It now goes to the full committee. Please keep calling and urging your reps to reject it
KOSA passed out of the subcommittee in the House on 13-10 vote. Meaning that they are FINALLY listening to some opposition. But not enough to prevent the other age verification bills from passing, let alone this.

They MUST listen to opposition. Losing this fight is NOT an option.

Open AI doesn't want to be transparent about what's in their datasets - this bill would force them. If you're pro AI regulation (esp if you're in Bay Area), please show up and offer your support for this bill! If you can't make it, help spread the word!

Boycott, boycott, boycott. The world is better when humans work together and uplift fellow humans.
Support the arts, support human researchers, and denounce the company greed programs just looking to pad their pockets.
Sure, they've made an environmentally catastrophic mass hallucination disinformation plagiarism Clippy that will destabilize the world, but also their other goal is to replace human workers entirely and let us humans starve. A boycott of AI is the most important boycott of your entire life.
"All of this falls apart if humans don't adopt the tech. This is why you've seen Meta cram its lame chatbots into WhatsApp and Instagram. This is why Notepad and Paint now have useless Copilot buttons on Windows. This is why Google Gemini wants to "help you" read and reply to your emails."

IMO, it raises the question of how useful are executives?
A study by Dayforce shows 87% of executives use AI for work, compared to 57% of managers and just 27% of employees.

I think this explains the massive disconnect we see in how CEOs talk about AI versus everyone else. It also raises the question of how useful it truly is for frontline work?
Execs are embracing AI more than their employees are, new research suggests
Research from HR software company Dayforce suggests that executives are leaning into AI far more than their employees.

And hey while you're all at it mention KOSA too! Protecting kids is NOT the priority of these bills! Its just the same pearl clutching trying to make the argument that lgbt+ is somehow -bad for the children- and must be censored which will -absolutely definitely harm lgbt+ people including children-
#SaveSpeech

KOSA and the Stop CSAM act are both extremely high priority

Lawmakers are looking to repeal section 230 and they are getting phone calls ENCOURAGING reps to do so!

We need to call and drown out the opposition so we can save a free and open internet!
#SaveSpeech

KOSA is continuing to pick up co-sponsors. You need to call your representatives and demand they oppose this bill!
