So awful Alberta Premier Danielle Smith cynically courts separatists and other alt-right extremist voters for her political benefit to leverage the rest of Canada with the threat of separation, and now those separatists don’t want ANY deal with Canada.

Who could have seen THAT coming? #Everyone

The electricity costs from a refurbished Pickering B nuclear would likely be in the 20 c/kwh range, well above the costs of renewables + storage, DERs, or energy productivity/efficiency and will undermine competitiveness & affordability.

That is the lie the billionaires tell you. They can be taxed like everyone else.
The billionaires do not have liquid cash on hand. They own assets and investments. Those assets and investments are responsible for 25-30% of the job market. You wonder why things are expensive? It’s because government is involved.

yes! I tried to nod to that. Honda FIT etc discontinued cuz, ostensibly, people didn't want them. But there was a fan base who miss them and marketing has taught us bigger is better. it's a bit of chicken/egg (horse/cart?)
As always when I read about these monster trucks, I recommend Keith Bradsher's High & Mighty book from the early 2000s, detailing the rise of these beasts. A complete marketing ploy which debunks the notion of us as rational economic beings.

Is it good for the climate? Bad? Horrendous?
Here's a primer from the Canadian Climate Institute, who I trust.

Federal-Alberta MOU risks unravelling Canada’s climate policy
While promised improvements to industrial carbon pricing are positive and important, other aspects of Alberta-Canada MOU will undermine policy effectiveness across the country.
