What the absolute garbage fuck is this, NH. Preventing human beings from using the bathroom legislates away the ability to exist outside the home. You cannot legislate trans people from existence; you can only cause misery and suffering.
1. In a stunning new bill proposed by several New Hampshire republicans, transgender women could be charged with trespass for using the bathroom.

The bill is the first to apply to PRIVATE businesses.

It also ONLY applies to transgender women, not trans men.

New Hampshire Bill Would Create First Private Business Trans Bathroom Ban, Would Only Apply To Trans Women
The bill has several cosponsors and would target transgender people in bathrooms across the state.

We have a bit of a natural experiment here. Compare the tone, quantity and duration of Charlie Kirk coverage with that of the two Dem lawmakers gunned down in their homes in Minnesota 6 months ago. May be revealing.

I just published the most personal thing I’ve ever written.

The High Cost of Saying No: Why I Can’t Stop Talking About Housing.

It’s about Atlanta and San Francisco, growth, and grief.

And the decisions that shaped my marriage, my loss, and everything after www.dataandpolitics.net/the-high-cos...

A YIMBY Theory of Power
Pro-housing advocates offer an analysis of class relations that is more sophisticated and has more explanatory power than the one held by many critics of the “abundance agenda.”

You know you’ve reached middle-age when you spend your Sunday morning battling a racist on your neighborhood Facebook group. (No, Sheila, the Spanish-speaking church isn’t doing anything “illegal.”) (Sheila is actually getting shredded by everyone else. Get wrecked, bitch.)

I got an MMR vaccine today, because I was originally dosed before 1989. It was easy! No doctor’s visit required in Ohio. If you’re able, please consider getting additional protection and let old-timey diseases stay old-timey.

9/ The tariffs are DESIGNED to create economic hardship. Why? So that Trump has a straight face rationale for releasing them, business by business or industry by industry.

As he adjusts or grants relief, it’s a win-win: the economy improves and dissent disappears.

I’ve been a “vote blue no matter who” democrat who advocates aggressive organizing no matter the election cycle. I swear if democrats get any more conservative I will never vote for them again.
New: Last month, a group of moderate Democratic consultants, campaign staffers, elected officials & party leaders gathered in Loudoun County, Virginia, for a retreat where they plotted their party’s comeback.

We got their takeaways. t.co/bEwlg4jbtM

elon musk, the world's richest man, unilaterally deciding that lifesaving relief for children on the verge of starvation is "wasteful" while he personally reaps hundreds of millions from the us government, makes me feel things i cannot write on the internet.
Awful: Delivery of life saving treatment to nearly 400,000 severely malnourished kids abroad is in doubt amid USAID firings, the product's manufacturers tell me.

The treatment is a paste made of peanuts, milk and sugar for kids on edge of starvation.

Two U.S. nonprofits that manufacture a treatment sent by USAID to help severely malnourished children abroad say the process is in chaos. This isn’t what Marco Rubio said would happen.

It's kind of amazing that we showed we could cut child poverty in half for roughly 100 billion/year (absolute peanuts in a 7 trillion dollar budget), did it for a year, and then just stopped doing it.
The food security report is out, and it's bad news: 13.5% of households were food insecure in 2023, up from 12.8% in 2022. This is what happens when you abruptly end "pandemic" supports that should have been there all along.
