My eldest sometimes violently attacks my feet when I’m in bed by pouncing from the floor. It is so startling and painful I find myself tensing up frequently. She is at the end of her life now, and I dread the day I realize I can relax.

I just started a new job and have quickly made a warm relationship with an upper colleague I support. He told me today that I am a “badass” and that one day I will be a Senior project manager. He even got a little teary. It feels so good to be believed in!

My roomie and I watched I-land (or, the brutalist egg show as we coined it) and I just can’t believe how much they’ve grown and grown up. I’m, like, weirdly proud of them? Im not a concert fanatic, but I got to see Janelle monae way before it all and I’ll never forget it.
