Finished BLACK FLAME and it knocked the top of my head clean off. I love the way she writes bodies and food, but also how she portray the ways fascism seeps in, rotting the spirit, and how being a tart of fascism is not enough to stave off the rot. You have to care, and to act for those around you.

I'm not sure the author of this piece ever worked a service job before, because getting the authority to say "get the fuck out right now" to a visitor that's annoying the shit out of people is one of the rare joys of a service job

One thing about going through a shitty situation is that you really find out how many people are going to just surround you with love and support and both the tough conversations and immense care. I'm just adjacent but it's really meant a lot. Y'all know who you are 🧡

On the writing side, I feel like my prose is very solid on the sentence level, and I have a good ear for the rhythm of a line.
On the visual art side... Hm. I think I'm very good at working fast and loose. Urban sketching especially feels and looks good in my hand, though I do it so rarely.
