To explain why “Abolish ICE” is the only path forward:

ICE is an organization that essentially advertises itself as “Like the Nazi Gestapo, but without the courage to show our faces while committing our crimes against humanity.”

Oh, hey! Looks like the refs DO know what "roughing the passer" looks like... but only for Miami quarterbacks, I guess.

semi-regular reminder that ICE was only created in 2003

when you are asked to imagine a world without ICE, you're basically being asked to remember where you were when Lilo & Stitch came out

So, every 2 weeks, since 2021, Amazon sends me recommendations, with THE SAME TWO BOOKS at the top of the list. To be clear, neither of these books bear the slightest resemblance to what I read.

I'd love to get good book recommendations, but their algorithm is clearly broken.

Just like it’s still the department of defense

Today’s reminder that Facial Recognition is a garbage technology that has been proven to be often wrong, particularly when attempting to identify POCs.

While it MAY have some uses as a 1st pass scan, the idea that it should override _anything_ is ridiculous on its face.
New incredible detail here: ICE says a match in its facial recognition app Mobile Fortify is a "definitive" determination of a person's status, and that this overrides birth certificates. This is an app ICE is using in the field to scan people

This is exactly the same argument — and, in parts, even the same language — that segregationists advanced to argue that white people had a “right” not to live next to people who were different from them.
Vance says it is "totally reasonable and acceptable" for people to not want to live next door to people who speak a different language than they do

People are saying this has never been done before, but I have DEFINITELY seen a player strike out 10 players on the opposing team while hitting 3 home runs in a single game, just like Shohei Ohtani did last night.

Of course, it was Little League...

What did the Dodgers and Phillies fans do to deserve this horrific announcing team on TV?

They are beyond awful.

Hallelujah!! Had the Mets had even mediocre fielders on the corners, the Mets win at least 5 more games this year.

You can't win championships with terrible fielders on 1st, 3rd, and Right Field, plus mediocre fielders with limited range on 2nd and in Left Field.

In a sane country with competent leadership, the 50 highest-ranking Democrats would call a press conference to denounce what just happened as a threat to the republic and demand Trump's immediate impeachment and removal from office.

I don't know he could make his intentions more clear.

I watched today's Mets game trying to root them to the postseason. But to be honest, this team, right now (and over the last 6 weeks) couldn't win a series against any team that made the playoffs.

There's part of me that's relieved I don't have to watch them get swept in LA.

Siri can't hit, so if he can't play defense, lets DFA him in the 5th inning and get literally anyone off the AAA team up.

Pete cranks another homer, which is a great start, but I have to believe there’s some kind of strategy that lets the Mets score, other than a solo home run.

Maybe I’m crazy. Maybe this team has no capacity to score other than swinging out of their shoes with no one on base.

Keep in mind that these conditions were inflicted on absolutely, inarguably legal (documented) immigrants here to build a factory to create American jobs.

Imagine how badly undocumented immigrants are treated.
