Give yourself something to look forward to next year. Something less substantial than a resolution which can carry regret if you can't stick to it. Think of a book you want to read, a genre of music you'd like to learn more about, a curiosity to chase no matter how trivial. Keep your spark lit.

Been sitting with Black for multiple hours now. Easily up there with Screecher's Reach as one of my favorite Star Wars Visions shorts.

I keep saying it: Devilman and Kaze to Ki no Uta are the two most influential manga ever created. The two gay fathers of all yaoi.

Ah, that's what happened to him after I unsubbed because he kept using the r-slur in his videos. That's a shame.
Quick reminder, the Code MENT guy is a far-right crazy person. He unfortunately is also thr Soup Store guy.

He recently has tried to rebrand, but his final few videos before said rebranding had messages complaining about economic equality, DEI, et. Also slurs.

Heading to the hospital now because he needs to be monitored overnight. We have narrowed it down to three things.

1) FIP (we can treat it)
2) autoimmune issues (maybe we can treat it)
3) aggressive cancer (likely unable to treat)

Anything helps. Thank you.

Pirate the series. Make your own physical media. That's the only answer when this happens and they haven't put it out any other way.
‘She-Ra and the Princesses of Power’ is scheduled to leave Netflix on February 21, 2026.

Again I say: how fucking interesting that remote work technology is bad and not worth adopting despite all research pointing to productivity gains, but genAI which offers NOTHING is so important to adopt and force on people who have no use for it despite all the horrible things genAI does

Specifically, AI and space travel are how humanity will apparently avoid “long term” extinction events, and therefore virtually any tradeoff in service of those goals is worth it “in the long term” because infinity people is always the most people
Let me save y'all reading long articles on long-termism:

Imagine the most annoying philosophy majors at your college debating right in front of your dorm room:
"If you could bring about artificial general intelligence 5 years sooner, would you be willing to trade 2 billion African lives for that?"🤡

@larianstudios.com I cherished my time with D:OS2 and BG3, I was even looking forward to Divinity, but this talk of you using generative AI for the "creative" backbone of your future games...that's no way to respect your artists and audience.

hey @larianstudios.com, "concept artist" is something that people get paid to do professionally just like any other artist, and replacing them with genAI is no better than replacing any other part of your development team.

Also placeholder text has existed for years. It's called "Lorum Ipsum"

Okay, I'll make a thread of 50 indie games which I'll add to over the week, staring with.

1. Carimara

Play as a little goblin creature summoned by a witch to investigate what's haunting her cottage, it's a creepy bite-size mystery akin to the Frog Detective games, and has gorgeous visuals.

Arco, Rosewater, and Weird West are an interesting trifecta of fantastical video game westerns. Don't really have a coherent thesis or take beyond that, but they're neat.

Seeing a lot of people accuse this of being AI, but Jacub Gagnon is just a talented artist.

These are from the 2010s.

You are ABSOLUTELY NOT going to regret listening to this bird:
A male rock ptarmigan (Lagopus muta) in winter plumage.

Ptarmigan is from Gaelic 'tarmachan' meaning "croaker". The p- was added when people mistakenly assumed it was a Greek word.

A bird forever warning people: "A werewolf!" (just in case of werewolves).
