God, this is awful. When I was a little girl, I used to read the first few Harry Potter books to my family. But Harry seemed less and less like a victim and more like a cop as time passed. it does not have to fucking be like this. judy shepard, the mother of matthew shepard who was murdered in a homophobic lynching in 1998, did not go around making speeches excusing her son's killers, she became an activist bringing attention to homophobic violence.
