good moderation and banning hate speech actually works, and is necessary for a functioning social site. We've known since the days of BBS's that this is the case really.

These people say things that should just get them fired or disbarred or whatever on the spot, in a profession with any standards. Like how does an adult say that, and continue to think of themselves as a capable professional, and keep turning up as if they deserve to be in the job.

This feels similar to how i discovered the actual meaning of the word "declawing" in reference to cats while i was in a big group of friends loudly and enthusiastically talking about getting my boy's claws trimmed at the vet. when i found out the meaning i got upset that they weren't madder with me

core memory unlocked of egg me thinking Randall from Clerks was amazing for liking girl dick and absolutely hating Dante for the rest of the movie after her made fun of Randall

I wish we could give *everyone* who hates us a taste of dysphoria, but I'll chalk this much up as a win for now

wait until there's a new type that call themselves alphas

that laugh is actually pathetic. like, wow. theres no way she could have destroyed my image of her more thoroughly in the space of a second.

he's literally just murdering random civilians for fun. like, when is the appropriate remedy going to be applied to this demented (literally) pedophile rapist. what exactly is the rest of the us government doing, aside from facilitating a madman's continued hold on power.

at the end of the day a lot of them just don't beleive that we're real. They'll be supportive and think "its a harmless quirk" and then act as if we can opt out of horrible shit (bc we can always go back to boymoding/girlmoding), or play down dysphoria bc everyone feels bad about their looks, etc

i feel like that's just a more democratic governer-general, which is what nobody really wants. we just don't want a head of state. i dont, anyway.

I also avoid thinking about bottom surgery because I know it isnt something that will ever be accessible to me and I don't want to let the genie out of the bottle on that thought. i do hope they put it on public healthcare in my country one day so I can think about it. #justdesignervaginathings

I have coins piled up on my desk at work that i scrounged from the bottom of my bag. this is my lunch money until payday when i will need to transfer a few hundred dollars immediately into my bills/rent account to pay myself back as i overspent getting groceries last fortnight. #justbourgeoisthings

only if you consider it in the abstract. The reason this is a real concern is that we don't exist in the abstract. People were responding to the limited options on offer and to what politicians were saying they wanted to do

One of the reasons the republic movement failed in Australia is not because we don't think monarchies are stupid, but because people don't want a US style president bc that looks shit and our monarch nominally doesnt interfere, aside from the time they dissolved the most left government wed ever had

they worked to wipe us out by making us invisible.and turning us into jokes and lying about who we are, and we fucking beat them anyway.
dissembly.bsky.social
like i think about how i experienced the world during the 90s, 2000s l, and even 2010s and it just seems clear as day that visibility was a fight against nonexistence and suicide. its possible to be closeted and not even know it, and not even know why you always feel like death is inevitable & soon.
dissembly.bsky.social
something that might just be a perspective from a late transitioner is that visibility saved us from an almost successful genocide. Like we cant be wiped out bc we'll always reappear, but the things that kept me closeted and almost killed me were defeated by visibility, so that work was never futile

yes but actors are actual real people

Not if the data centres are just, like, rubble strewn across the ground. Personally I think the best aproach is to scavenge as much material from them as possible first, so that the equipment can be repurposed for something useful. But its not clear that tech companies are interested in that outcome

"long awaited rental reforms"

"Oh they're bringing in rent controls finally? Oh, no, its just a new law against a new horror I hadn't heard of yet."

I wish newspapers would hire human beings to write articles. It might mean they get articles that bear greater relevance to human being concerns.

I dont think thats really true. they're usually literally like "i want more money so fuck everybody else". they dress it up in nicer language but i dont beleive they really beleive theyre the good guys.
