The basic fact is that something which cannot think is not able to produce knowledge. LLMs dont output knowledge or information, they output an inferior kind of data. Data and information are not the same thing, and even a human being wrong still produces information and not data.

You're trying to square a circle. There is no solutn to the basic problem. You just shuffle it around, & end up back having to either do the work or stay oblivious not just to the errors from the LLM but to whether there are errors

Like you're not learning something, I'm sorry, but you can't understand your topic if your understanding comes from AI summaries. You shouldn't be presenting yourself to other people as knowledgeable about that thing, not if you havent actually done the work that people do to gain knowledge.

Its not like every other source of information, and its scary that people think it is. Other sources of information can be wrong in ways that you can assess. There are chains of reasoning and sources. AI doesn't have that. It can't be used for research the way other sources of varying quality can.

This is crazy. How are there grown adults with PhD level qualifications having to waste time in working groups determining whether an obviously stupid idea has merit. There is absolutely value at all in any of this. It's an epistemological and science communication nightmare.
