Remember this? The most amazing thing about this remarkable 2002 car commercial is that it didn’t seem to realize at the time, or perhaps didn’t care, how effectively it made the point that cars and car infrastructure are a HUGE waste of space in cities. Award-winning 2002 ad for Saturn car company.

Are we not even making our own disinformation? What happened to American manufacturing?
Twitter pays people based on engagement (views, retweets, comments, etc). It appears that many MAGA accounts are based abroad and they use AI technology to generate low-effort rage bait.

My guess is that this will get worse as AI tech improves. For instance, fake videos of minorities doing crime.

This is why we can’t have nice things. Why couldn’t they have just started a podcast or made some weird angry metal band, or god forbid, become DJs?

It's not a foolproof plan but every political debate from now on should be a Normal Guy competition. Ask them to describe grocery shopping in detail. Talk about what it's like to have a friend

Just bought a copy of Life After Cars by @douggordon.bsky.social and @sarahgoodyear.bsky.social for my mom as a Christmas present. I find I get too worked up when talking about cars to communicate as effectively as I want. But with the book you can get it all across with Doug and Sarah’s help!
