The Erinaceous
@erinaceousphd.bsky.social
Grumpy Black crone who likes to think and explore (and seek mindfulness, within reason). In pfp: a hedgehog with a kente kufi on its head, and red laser eyes. Not chill.
Currently rearing an aging, unsociable 🦔 rescue.

Quick intro:
- mid-30s, Fenty 450, Niger Deltan descent 👋🏿
- known elsewhere for locked account where I vented about bad grad school XP
- older now; venting isn’t good for my blood pressure
- non-professional account: expect cooking, plants, mourning pets, deconstruction of fundie upbringing (1/)

This person has been blasting music from their car for ages now. Please park your car and GO INSIDE. We are old people here. This part of town isn’t for the partiers.

any time I see “near the White House” in a headline it makes me wonder if it truly was near the White House or just “in DC”

Idk why so many of *these* accounts are arguing with Tressie when this isn’t a matter of opinion.

I’ve lived in neighborhoods where the *only* places to buy food were fried chicken, Chinese takeout, corner stores, (w/ little to no fresh food,) & the pharmacy, (no fresh food, & then closed.)
When you are talking about a food desert, the market is definitionally not providing access to food because there is…no store.
The market does provide it. The reason private stores aren't selling fresh produce nearby is that not enough ppl want it (or rather, want it badly enough to pay what it actually costs to produce and deliver)--even when the federal govt is helping cover the bill via EBT.

Poor ppl have agency, too!

The people who committed the Rohingya genocide were Buddhist. They were objectively extremist.

What is this take?
Calling a bunch of bald people in barefoot an extremism is an extremism.

TL;DR: the *actual* poverty line in the US for a family of four with two young children is about $140,000, and there isn't much improvement in quality of life between $40K and $100K.

There's more good stuff in there too, you should read the whole thing.

Accutane Month 2 thread: little to report, since I’m only a few days in (Day 4 as of later this AM). I expect a flare or two, but otherwise, my skin feels a little smoother (I’ve been easing that along with double cleansing and gently extracting annoying filaments) and one dark spot is fading.

Also, boosting this. I recommend reporting them all as fake accounts before blocking. It’s interesting that they take profile pics of the living and names of the (usually) dead.
