This is, in my opinion, not only the correct moral/ethical/legal position but also the correct political framing. Everyone can see the agency is out of control; everyone can see that it is constantly violating human rights. "Scrap it and start over" is the moderate position.

Who could’ve foreseen that the US outspending every other country on earth militarily (by a lot) would end badly? A malignant growth turned cancerous. We should have turned away from this course decades ago instead of continuing to heap money in the military complex.

Any one of these daily atrocities should result in a full congressional investigation and a disbanding of the agency. The fact that it’s all just shrugged off by those with the power to stop it is a national disgrace.
